Sorry to hear of your troubles. I think there is an insurance ombudsman who is there to help in these situations, not sure of the process though.
In any industry where there is an ombudsman, the process is always similar - the ombudsman can only assist once you have exhausted the complaints procedures of the company in question. Obviously, you have to wait until the stress of it all gives you ulcers before you get to that stage, as companies will never be in a hurry about such things.
Its all covered under the financial ombudsman service. Do any you guys have twitter or facebook you can help me on?
Whilst I sympathise with you I think you need to wait till you get a reply to your letter of complaint before you take guerrilla action. You need to exhaust all avenues first.
I understand, the thing is though i know there is nothing more that can be done. They cant/wont refund me the full amount and cant insure me on another policy which has been told to me over the phone by a manager. If i can apply a bit of pressure from trending, social sites it may force them to do something about it quicker?
You could use the "threat of doing something" as leverage, but I would suggest the ombudsman as a first port of call. They'll be more scared of that that you posting something on twatter or FaceSpace.
I dunno you know, when i told my wife yesterday she was straight on twitter and they gave her a call immediately and then called me back. So it do work a bit. I will have to wait until i receive the reply to my complaint, i just hope its quick and i hope i get this partial refund quick too
Go back to your insurance broker and tell them that you are now going to speak to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) formerly the FSA, by complaining to them the broker will automatically receive at minimum a £500 fine and will still have to answer to both you and the FCA. I had a similar problem with insurance bout 5 years ago and when I said I was going to the then FSA they sorted out the problem within 24 hours. Good luck
Apparently it is being processed, so I hope get my £1182 back next week! Got a quote from Ducati Insurance £1600 so not too bad, more than I would ever want to spend but hey ho better then £2k plus! Just waiting to hear back form them to see If I can put 50% down today and then pay the rest my when my refund comes through. Fingers crossed but I doubt I will hear anything back today, at the moment all I seem to be doing is chasing around. I hhhhhate insurance
Is the quote from Ducati Insurance an on-line quote or over the telephone? I had a better quote when I spoke to them, but they still couldn't match CN.
Ha ha MCE... Moronic C@nts Extraordinaire As above, FCA will auto charge £500 even if you do not get your case upheld so with a immediate threat
Funny thong is, if he goes over there really isnt much they can do...and the forms normally say 'estimated annual mileage'
