But once you have set your own parameters in those modes does the SCU still work dynamically or is it working all the time? I think it does and that is the bit I don't like, it.s still not quick enough to react to road changes and bumps. Is this a fully active system ?
In the dynamic modes it is still making adjustments - adjusting the parameters provides input as to what you prefer to feel. For example firming up under braking. In fixed mode its 'normal' suspension, but adjusted from the menu, not using screwdrivers and spanners.
Get the S. I'm no suspention expert but the range of adjustment is awesome. I flick between sport and race on the mountain depending on the section. Sport is great on the freeways and bumpy stuff over here and for some sections on the hill, race offers the cornering adjustment. After I got the sag and preload adjusted the rest is easy. The bike simply blows my 1299 out of the water.

I pick up my new V4 on Friday, I went with non electronic, just couldn’t see the benefit or justify the extra 5 grand, my reasoning was, coming from s1000rr and only riding on the road, once I got the suspension set up for me I never touched it again, ever, in all my ownership, which to me means once I get the suspension set up for myself on the v4 that will be that. But that’s me and my opinion, it’s each to their own as they say
