Storing stuff under the cowl? The 1199 has room? I know all I can fit under my 1198 is a sidestand puck and the excuse for a toolkit that came with the bike. I can fit a spare Reg/Rect and a whole host of tools under my 916. Call that progress? Its annoying when bits falloff your bike. My old Lambretta ejected both sidepanels like torpedoes once. One of them hit an old lady at the bus stop in the ankle. She would have been in pain if she wasnt pissing herself laughing at my expense. She asked whether i'd bought the scoot from one of those comedy clown car manufacturers. Old biddies eh?
Have you seen the space under the cowl? there is enough space for about four boxes of matches and thats it. The tool kit that comes with the bike is a waste of time.
Haha similair thing on my lambretta happened lol, only one panel though and it was a rat bike anyway lol!!
My dealer told me, at the bike handover, to make sure I locked it firmly in place and to use "positive pressure" when fitting the cowl, otherwise I'd lose it. Also, to give it a good old tug to make sure it was in place before riding off.
Leathers a bit tight then...? sorry... Back on the subject of seat cowls, the 888 one is held in by sheer force of habit as the wife refuses to ride on the back as it's too hard[1] Mike [1]the seat...
It had such a thick lacquer, that hours of t-cut and fine wet n dry got rid of most of it. Didnt help that the surface was new and that rough stuff. I was lucky nothing run over them. Old lady was okay.
