  2. Geeze what the heck is that thing? Is it alive?

Have just had the bike running again and it's totally in the shade sun does not hit the vesibule "front" until late afternoon as it faces West the oil temp says it's at 116 degrees and the tank is getting hot so it is fromt the engine now when running airflow will of course help cool it some but it's obvious at least to me that some better heat insulation is required.

In the meantime am just about to order some proper motorcycle protective trousers and am chasing after some decent boots.

  4. I've got one on my speedtriple, tank has expanded due to ethanol but the water pump cover has not so the tank bag hides the gap.

  5. I have a proper tank bag it came with the bike it's a Kappa brand, never heard of those either, magnetic and with straps to secure to tank, expandable, and with a rain cover. Now I think that once saw a vintage bike with a leather tank cover but that was decades ago to it's a bit hazy on details.

  6. The more that I hear about the issues with plastic tanks to more I think that the fuel compsnies should be help liable ........................... yeah I know pipe dreams. Once that Por-15 kit arrives and can get this steel tank cleaned out again and lined with sealer then hopefully it will be all ok and I cna get it repaired and painted not spoken to the body/paint shop as yet need to do that.
