  1. Is the little moo mum a Beagle?

  2. You sure? Gestation is 60-63 days and you can't tell if they're definitely pregnant until a scan around day 28.

  3. Yes be a German Shepherd and Beagle cross puppies - looking online could look like a mix of either, and be a mix of size between them so could be some interesting colours (some are really quite cute, but also some really arent!!). We spent a small fortune putting up barriers round the house and taking one or the other out at any time and thought we had avoided it.

And yeah in terms of timings I am probably out on estimate - Took her to the vets today for check up and find out when she could be done following her season ending approx 2-3 weeks ago, and he said she's showing signs so is going back in 2 weeks for her scan to be sure so watch this space!

  4. I started to read this page
    https://www.loveyourdog.com/beagle-german-shepherd-mix/

But a few lines in it says "Both dogs are quickly trained and mild-tempered" - Mild tempered yes, but as for the other part almost fell off my chair laughing!!

But, I think whatever happens we will end up with dog 5 in the end, happened with all the kittens and our boy lab as my wife always keeps the last one!

  5. I think a Beagle/German cross should be known as a "Gerble"

  7. Thanks mate. Not yet they say 4-6 weeks, although i got some more metacam/anti inflammatory to help in the meantime which definitely helps so could be masking any improvement. I guess the time will tell when that runs out (ive been giving him half doses to try and ease him off it).

  8. I started here when looking for food for my dog https://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/
then settled on Simpsons premium biscuit for him, he liked it and my sisters been feeding her dogs it for 10 years. I use the same influences when looking for food for our cat now too, if a recognisable meat (and not derivatives) is not the first ingredient I pass up on it straight away.
Started feeding our cat Lilys Kitchen but he’s not over struck so moved on to Rosies Farm which I think is ZooPlus/Bitiba (German company I think) own brand of premium pet food, and he seems to like those, still a grazer though but slowly polishes it off over the course of the day, as long as it’s not fish :joy:

  9. I've given up on trying to covert him to canned food tbh. I bought a tin of each variety I could find in PaH last week and every day put a dollop from a freshly opened can alongside the kibble in his bowl, but each time he just turned and looked mournfully at me as if to say "How could you betray me like this?".

Hence, he's back to eating like a mediaeval monarch again, gorging on roast beef and fresh fish. : unamused:

  10. Can’t blame him, you’ve spoilt him now, no going back :joy:

My grandparents used to give their dog pork pie and cheese for supper every night, when he stayed with us while they went on holiday, if he didn’t get his supper he’d sulk and howl all night :joy:

  12. After giving me "the look" and walking off in an obvious huff, he set up shop in the dining room and then sat there guilt-tripping and glaring at me while I made my own breakfast. He did ok in the end though, as he cadged half my toast off me because he has this adorable habit of standing up and tapping me on the arm while gesturing with his eyes towards whatever I'm eating. It's funny how they can communicate more with a few facial expressions and body language than many humans can with words.

This is him doing it, although unfortunately he wasn't really doing the "eye-pointing" thing in this clip: Clip31

  19. We ordered about 1000 tablets of that stuff. And Mr Amazon decided to just fling the box over the gate. Our (greedy bastard) bull mastiff found it first and obviously thought they were dog jelly tots and ate 998 of the fekin things. No shit, there were 2 tablets left on the drive. He did barf them all up over the kitchen floor tiles about 6 hours later.
