There are no words but I offer my condolences and sympathy for the passing of a part of your family. Andy
There's no words Matey, but many of us know how you're both feeling right now. Our last boy Glen's final days were very similar to how you described Tippi's passing. No matter how long you have to get prepared, it still hits you like a train.
So, after some honest opinions on here please. We had the puppies a few weeks ago, so put the first advert up last week and it seems the 3 boys are now taken but the two girls dont seem to be going. Just wondering if there is something I am missing here about why people only want males? These are the pics used on the ad for reference
Maybe it's a size thing? As they're half GSD, could it be that most of the prospective buyers are looking for a dog that combines pet/guard duties and male GSDs tend to be larger than bitches? It's the opposite with working cockers as there's a preference for bitches because they're generally seen as more biddable and eager to please than males. Perhaps ask the people who reserved the girls why they did so?
I think it comes down to luck of the draw at the time, and not a general trend/preference towards either sex. That said, we generally have more people on our waiting list for a girl, than a boy, but only by a very small margin. Your 2 girls look lovely btw, so I hope they find nice loving homes soon.
Our corgi pups are three weeks old now . Doris had nine!, but unfortunately we lost two . All are doing well and have doubled in weight .
Beautiful We've lost 3 out of 31 (6 litters). Some are just not meant to be, but that bit still doesn't get any easier
Apparently, despite their adorable looks, they’re vicious and bad tempered, have a very strong bite and razor sharp claws which they can’t retract.
Well what a difference a week makes, now its getting closer it seems getting lots of enquiries about all of them. The good news is both girls now ready to be rehomed to good family homes once at 9-10 weeks old. Been a good experience, hard work but also fun overall. While I look forward to things going back to normal a bit more, think I will miss the mad rush each morning, and the little play sessions we have had and watching them become little characters they are. Luckily ones going to my neighbour so will see him grow up, still curious what size and shape the mix of GSD and beagle will end up in a years time and sounds like all the other new owners will stay in touch so watch this space. The fun times playing, and moments like this make it all worth while:
Lovely news It's always nice to know they're going to good loving homes. Meanwhile, it's all going to kick off here in around 4 days time
Thanks Johnny, thats an amazing scan pic, defo exciting times ahead. We had a scan but didnt get that level of detail. Wish her all the best for the birth. Sadly, got the "we have changed our mind" call on one of the poor girls this morning just as its getting close. But, I am glad we found out now rather than she went and had an issue that meant we heard she was rehomed. The other girl had a visit and we turned down the first prospective owner, the second person who saw her was the perfect match so for the best all round so thinking will be the same for the second one. Were in no hurry to ship her off, will take as long as needed.
