  3. I’m moving house and today is the great clean and clear up, including burning loads of papers in one of those bincinerator things (which get red hot while in use), so Iggy has been confined to his crate all day. You should have heard the moaning and complaining at being excluded from all the interesting goings on, which has been made even more vexing for him because his favourite human (my eldest son) is here. We’ve been treated to clucking like a hen, whistling, grumbling in a way that’s uncannily like an impression of Marge Simpson, squeaking like a rusty hinge and doing a minor key vocalisation that a delta blues singer would be proud of for the sheer depth of despair it conveys. And then of course, when he catches sight of me or the boy, he gives us the sulky side eye treatment.

  7. Wise move though matey:upyeah: My friend's neighbour had quite a large tree fall in his garden and decided to burn it in situ rather than cut it up and take it away. Obviously it took some burning and continued to burn as fiercely hot embers even when the flames had died. Being country, their 'plot' was open and my friend's old Border Collie boy wandered into his neighbour's area and stumbled into the burning ashes. I'll not go into details, but needless to say it didn't end well and the image is now etched into my brain.

Had the snip today, still very subdued but seems happy to be home.

Sure he will have his revenge on us for putting him through that, once he needs to put this on

These collar things are a bad idea on Great Danes.

  12. He’s a bit brighter today, the challenge may be that he’s not supposed to go on walks for a few days.

  13. But on the upside, he does now beam Premiership football matches out of his arsehole

  15. How’s Obi settling in?

My recollection of when Iggy was that age is that he grew a lot between weeks 8 and 12. Have you got him registered with a vet, as he’ll need his vaccination boosters at 12 weeks before he can come into contact with other dogs or areas where other dogs have frequented.

  16. Obi?
    Better not punish him.
He’ll come back stronger than you can possibly imagine…o_O

  17. He’s growing for sure. in size and energy and appetite! Got very sorted, booked in next Friday for jabs.

He’s so excitable and goes from 100% flat out biting anything and everything near him to docile and calmly nibbling before sleep. And often within minutes of each other
