The wife has arranged/managed to get 13 of our puppy owners to meet up on saturday for a walk in the local country park . Then all back to ours for lunch! . What could possibly go wrong !
My Sphynx cat was on heat and got out, 71 days later 4 kittens. The names are Aprilia , Bimota , Cagiva and Ducati.
I think there’s something he likes the smell of in the bushes as the first time I brought him to the house he made a beeline for them.
Took the youngest (Layla) with us on our expedition in the Lakes today, left the 2 oldies back at the cottage as they wouldn’t have made it but they did very well yesterday on a very long walk.
Well I think today was a success, everyone human and four legged seemed to all get along . We had a lovely walk with various people taking plenty of pics of us all .
Managed to remove the first grass seed of the season from the youngests paw earlier before he licked it raw and I ended up with another vet bill. Mind out people, evil (and expensive) little bastids.
Our youngest is a Vet nurse, and from what he tells us spends a good proportion of each day this time of year removing grass seeds and treating the resultant infections and injuries. Male dogs bounding through long grass appear to pick up some particularly eye-watering sounding grass seeds as foreign bodies. Lady Nasher and I make sure we check our Toby all over after a walk before letting him anywhere near our lad, otherwise we are in a lot of trouble for letting him pick up any seeds.
Its a 24/7 job during the summer in this house with three dopey spaniels. I’ve heard and read stories where they’ve gone in via a paw and travelled through/up the body and in extreme cases caused damage to major organs. Once they go all the way in, they’re not coming back out without surgery either, sadly i know this for a fact.
We removed 5 ticks from one of our dogs after our Lake District trip, the other two didn’t have any on them. Must of just gone for the slowest dog. Vile things.
The wife went shopping on Sunday morning, 5 minutes he sat like this, watching the door, waiting for her to come back
My moo has taken to sleeping in odd positions since it got a bit warmer before we returned to April weather that is!! this can’t be comfy
We’re on holiday in Devon atm. Tickmageddon here . Already removed 8 from our girls. I’ve had Border Collies since 1971 and never seen a tick on one before these (we use Bravecto). Luckily I carry tick ‘hooks’ just in case though
My springer has a bush he always used to dive under when he was a pup and i suspect was his safe space (i never caged my dogs) Standard Spanner sprawl that, all three of mine sleep like it!!
