  1. Did the vet mention Librela to you?
My Kenny’s on it and it transforms him, it’s been amazing.
Jab once a month on repeat prescription if u can.

  2. It was our local village fete yesterday, and in it is a light hearted dog show. So, after invading the spaniel party I took moo to the competition and she did me proud.

Think one lady with a very well trained sheepdog (who took the whole thing far too seriously) was pretty upset when she got beaten by a dog who didnt do a thing she was told other then follow the treats hand like a hawk! It was judged by two primary school kids at end of the day, some people just need to lighten up and take what is supposed to be a bit of fun as just that.

  3. He didn’t but he did say there are various injections we can try, he said one is very effective but expensive so maybe it’s Librela he was on about.
We are starting with Metacam which has done wonders for Roger so far but we’ll see if it lasts.

  4. It is expensive but i get a 6 month repeat prescription so instead of going to the vets once a month and paying £90 for the jab and £30 for a consultation each time i buy it online for £60 a pop and jab him myself. The rest stays in the fridge.
    Halves the cost.
Apparently its a fairly new and ground breaking drug that stops the brain receiving the pain messages. It really does work.
    Good luck.

  5. Whichever drug he has next we will definitely be getting a prescription and buying online, they charged us over £30 for the Metacam and it’s £7.50 online.

  6. Woke up to liquid matter across my kitchen this morning. Cleared it up made a cup of tea and wandered into a living room that can only be described as like something out of Trainspotting. It was everywhere (except the couch thankfully) and included the door mat, fireplace mat, the entire length of the mat my bikes parked on and splashes us the back wheel. It was vile.
Just finished cleaning and stuck the last of the mats in the washing machine and ive been up since 6:30.
    Hows everyone elses morning going?

  8. Doesnt sound good, Hope pooch's are ok

After seeing that, wont complain about the two piles of sick I had to mop up this morning and washing a single dog bed. In comparison, sounds like my morning has been a delight now

  9. Horrible twatting grass seeds finally caught up with my youngest Scoo and hes currently under the knife at the vets to get it removed from under his dew claw.
£870 including one hundred fucking pounds for a bandage.
I will be voicing my disgust on their how did we do survey but just fuck the fuck off you greedy gang of tory twats. Utterly revolting.

  10. Any idea why it keeps happening? Do you clip your dogs’ feathering? Iggy has very fluffy paws and (touch wood), never had a grass seed lodge in his foot.

  11. Our local park is knee high grass atm and all three of them come back covered in them twice a day for months. So easy to miss one, surprised it’s taken this long tbh but how do you stop a spaniel running through grass?

This was taken a couple of months ago it’s longer and dryer now of course ..

  12. Ok, but we also have plenty of grass here on the other side of Hertfordshire ;)

  13. Out of which end?

I suspect this might not be the ideal time to ask whether the probiotic supplement has worked or not…..o_O

  14. Haha you live and learn etc.. I meant as opposed to like a park with footy pitches on it.

Think we will be sticking to the river paths for the next few weeks but the boys (Kenny especially) don’t find it that stimulating as he can’t chase tennis balls which is basic what he lives for lol. He sulks as soon as he realises we’re not headed into the park and I’m not even joking.

  18. A couple months ago our dog had a reoccurring diarrhoea problem and we went to our new vet.
Before we could finish describing the symptoms she said its worms!
Apparently there is a significant worm problem now and the deworming tablets completely sorted out the problem.
    I hope this helps.

Here's a photo taken yesterday of Little Miss Happy-Guts sprinting down a sand dune and just about wiping me out...

  19. Also Giardia. Iggy had terrible recurring bouts of bloody (literally) diarrhoea last autumn. Unfortunately, the vet worried me sick and rinsed me for several hundred quid by testing for liver and kidney failure before my dog walker suggested I asked her to test for Giardia. Lo and behold, that’s what it was, and 3 half doses of Panacur later, he was as right as rain.

  20. Ya, our previous Vet had recommended Canikur (which had a limited effect), we changed foods a few times trying to find a more gut friendly food... and in the end it was worms.
Our new Vet is on Keele University Campus and they are excellent, they seem to very knowledgeable about the latest research findings and practices.

BTW: we used 'Nexgard' flea & worm medication, with great results.
