  2. She phoned late last night, they had to re break the poor little sods leg and he’s in a lot of pain and swelling for the next few days. She said she was able to mend it better than she’d hoped though. Hopefully pick him up Saturday. Thanks for the messages x

  3. Must be tough mate. The costs are ridiculous and they have you over a barrel if you earn too much to go to PDSA where they will take care of your pet for ‘free’. (Or used to, assume they still do)

Hope it’s successful and he’s back to enjoying life again soon!

Mine is finding it a little warm….

  4. My friend has a cocker poo and she bought him a coat that you can put water on and it keeps him cool

  5. Watering can works with every spaniel we've had.

  6. Small Kenny update: hes still not putting any weight on the leg they had to re-break and hes still got quite a bit of swelling and still on intravenous pain killers. They want to see him putting some weight on his left leg and for some more of the swelling to reduce before he can come home. Possible it could be tomorrow but more likely Saturday.

On the plus side I’ve paid the first half of the bill and the rest will go on a card. Ergo, my bike is no longer for sale.

  8. Do you think he will let you do the physio?

Iggy doesn't like being interfered with, although he will tolerate me brushing him, cleaning/scraping his teeth or removing sticky-bobs from between his paw pads, albeit this is accompanied by a fair bit of growling/grumbling and side-eye. I imagine post-op physio will be quite painful for poor old Kenny though.

  9. No problem with that but I’ve never caged my dogs so there’s no way im getting him in one of them will have to see if pets at home have a suitable sized dog pen tomorrow (I have two near me so fingers crossed).

Where can you buy ice packs? Chemist?

  10. If you don't manage to find a crate, I have a spare you can borrow until you get one and I'm not too far away from you.

  11. Frozen peas are the best. They freeze & refreeze fast and mold to limbs really well. I think Kenny deserves the finest petit pois!

  15. Really hope he gets home soon, I think they always recover better once back in familiar surroundings with people they know. Feel sorry for the poor guy. I know I miss my moo when I am away so can’t imagine how your feeling without him, roll on the weekend for you buddy

also for pens, I’ll dig out details once on the pooter shortly. Amazon is the best bet. I got there essentials one they call it, but worked well for the puppies and can be made as big or small as want due to the folding panels or use multiple if want a bigger one etc, and will be here next day. I’m happy to order it if you don’t have prime etc to make sure it’s there in time?

  16. Thank you mate appreciate that. I got the call this morning that he can come home this afternoon so I had to dive to pets at home and make do with what they had in stock. He’s starting to put weight on his broken leg and eating a bit better and they e reduced his meds.
    Roll on 3:30! :)
