Unreal mate he’s getting lots of love (and drugs). When I went to pick him up though I had a conversation with the lady who’s been looking after him full time as the specialist was on call and she asked me if he liked to put things on a bit. I told her he was the sulkiest old man ever and he can play you like a pack of cards and she lol’d and agreed. Loves the sympathy card mr Ken haha.
Hows he doing @Red899? One of our cats came back limping Sunday, called the vets but the little git must of heard me as he did a runner. Had to move it to this morning, got him locked in the house but wake up this morning and hes gone again as the kids opened the windows it seems. So if he comes home this morning, in the chicken coop he will go! The other cat got a ruddy abscess under her eye, vets had to pop that yesterday and clean that up Animals, sent to try us sometimes!
I forgot to zip him in the cage thing last night and when i came down this morning he was sprawled out on the couch little shit. Hes doing "okay" i would say still really hesitatnt to put any weight on the broken one (its only been a week) and he still hasnt had a shit since he got home. I mentioned it to the vet yesterday and she said as long as hes not trying to force it out it'll come. Not much motion in the ocean down there the last 7 days i guess. Hes finished two sets of meds (out of six) which is pleasing. Just waiting for him to spark back into life really. Hes fully aware of whats going on now and how its effecting his walks etc and he just looks a bit miserable (understandably).
Sorry to hear about your cats i nearly had another grass seed scare with my springer over the weekend which made me feel quite sick!
When moo had her leg done, she didnt have anywhere near that kind of invasive surgery but she probably lifted her leg for a good week solid, then a week of phantom walking on it but was no weight on there as was only leaving 3 wet paw prints on the floor! I got concerned at her check up, but vet said was normal then about week 3 she actually started to use it again a bit so reckon he will be at least that if not more so dont be too concerned yet. If hes a week in, and comfy enough to jump up onto the sofa thats probably also a good sign overall
Bought a trolley at Homebase at lunch so we could go the pub a few doors down and get some *ahem stimulation for Kenny (he got loads of attention and some pork scratching so obviously a winner)
Made me smile and chuckle - You know hes going to get used to it and expect to be chauffeured everywhere after all this!
