  2. TERRY (Yes - Terry the tarantula!) has just left the building - thank god! A mate of mine who has gone to work in the gulf for a year dumped Terry on me for 3/4 days until his new owner/keeper could pick him up and the guy he had lined up to foster him swerved cos his wife refused point blank to have it in the house- so I ended up taking him in! My mate said " Terry loves being handled if you are gentle and particularly Ickes his back being stroked?"I said feed it before you drop him round and brind a house brick to put on lid of his tank cos he's going in airing cupboard, brick on tank and chair under door handle.I know he couldn't get out but I've had 3 nights of jumping out of bed and checking he was still in his tank! Apparently Terry is a Mexican Red Knee but this is a library photo as he stayed under a u shaped log and I wasn't about to put my hand in there for a photo opportunity! Goodbye Terry - hope you like Rochester? You are the quietest pet I've ever had! image.png

  6. Very sad to say that we had to have our little man put to sleep last week at only 6 months old. His imune system was unable to fight the FCoV virus which mutated to the FIP virus, which is untreatable. R.I.P. little Ziggy. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

  7. We lost our dog not that long ago and just had to get more. Was the right decision for us, but we will never forget. Sorely missed.

  8. Really sad to hear this. That was one good-looking cat. Sorry for you. Pet death = awfulness.

  10. A guy I work with has a big snake, oooo errr missus ! (I don't know which type, but I think it's a Python).

It's escaped once and attacked him 3 times :ambulance:. He once said it was his own fault as he'd been preparing chicken and the snake got a whiff of it and latched onto his hand, only a metal kitchen knife into it's mouth stopped him from fainting. I agreed that it was his own fault, but the reason was that it's a bloody python. :Wideyed:

I don't understand how a Tarantula or a man eating snake can be a pet myself. Give me a Labrador any day of the week.

  16. I fully agree but I suppose it takes all sorts? The day Terry the Tarantula was collected was the first full nights sleep I had in 4 days

  18. I was watching a programme yesterday - Steve Blackshall the wildlife guy.He was in Borneo I think with a couple of young locals who run a snake emergency collect and resite poisonous snake service and the caught a massive (thicker than your arm!) King Cobra that had just killed and eaten a rat snake! It mentioned at end of prog that it was dedicated to one of the snake rustlers so I looked him up on google and sure enough he died while trying to capture a King Cobra! He got hold of the snake by its tail but apparently they are very aggressive and it spun round and stuck it's fangs into his pinkie finger - they got him straight to hospital but he was gone in a few hours

  19. Lovely - my mate has one and you don't need to tempt him in by throwing a stick or ball - he sees water and he runs flat out until he's in it! Just can't keep him out? He's had to buy an old battered 2003 Volvo estate off me I took in p/x just for him cos the wife put her foot down on damp dog smell in their daily drives

  20. Hahaha - once a new dog has met the family cat and had his very tender hooter pronged with the cats claws they usually make the very sensible decision to become friends for life and often end up curled up together in the same basket
