  3. Sad news...we also lost a beautiful Bengal at just 1 year old a few years back. He would cross the small quiet lane to go wandering through fields. Plain bad luck.

  4. Sounds exactly the same :(

Alas I think that’s the end of pets for quite some time, if not for good. I really miss having him around the house while I’m wfh now, as he’s often come and bother me or sit on the spare chair in my office. But we’ve lived in this house 5 years nearly and that’s the third cat we’ve had to say goodbye to in that time, 2 young ones and an older one we adopted and lost on a year to kidney failure.

  11. Maybe time for a dog? They really are great characters and companions. The added bonus is getting out walking every day!

Look the typical Boston Terrier colour scheme but maybe Frenchies ;)

  14. Having been a confirmed cat person for life but now a year into dog ownership I’d have to agree with that. You admire cats but by God, you love a dog.

Tbh I didn’t get it until I got one - you bond with them in a different way than you do with a human but it’s just as intense.

They’re also fascinating, absolutely hilarious and much more interesting and entertaining than the telly.

  15. My lads partner has a sproker, or something, and it’s funny watching him with the dog having always had cats. He enjoys having it around as he is home alone working all day, and likes the play and stuff but you can see ‘it’s not a cat’ in his attitude. I can see him adopting a cat too.

Way too soon cor us, but a small dog may be the answer. Not a yapper or handbag hobbies, maybe cockapoo type size

That huge Auroc type beast seemed to take a shine to the girlf and followed her for about 100m along the fence line, which given the length of their horns is worryingly close to the footpath!

This was Dudley my Cocker Spaniel, lost him 5yrs ago to complications connected with his epilepsy, he was only 3 and I miss him every day.

This is Monty, he's a character and quite funny but he's a cat and his love is conditional :joy:

  18. He’s lovely. I don’t usually think much of the show type Cockers but he’s a belter. I’m sorry you lost him. I can’t imagine what that must feel like, although tbh it crosses my mind every day and oddly I sometimes regret getting Iggy as I know that one day I’m going to have to bid him farewell. If only they could live as long as we do :pensive:

  20. Thanks, we’ve always had dogs as I was growing up but he was my first dog and in the later months of his epilepsy it was such a cruel thing to witness and sometimes he’d have multiple seizures a day and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone :pensive: so when he passed it was almost a blessing for his sake but no less upsetting for me.

I think tbh it’s the attachment and subsequent loss that makes me question getting another, that and the cat won’t stand for it :joy: but I know that shouldn’t be a reason not to get another and I will for sure when my lifestyle gives me the time and commitment they deserve.

Iggy looks like a nutter, typical spaniel:joy:
