It's another symptom of the self important 'me first' attitude that is becoming more and more widespread. That and the prevailing 'look at me' culture materialising on social media (shudder). Consideration is becoming a dying trait in almost every way. Society is going down the drain.
I was following a middle aged couple the other day who had their phone mounted in a holder stuck to the windscreen, instead of using it for Wayz or some other satnav app it was being used for a facetime call. I watched as the driver and passenger took turns to lean across to talk to someone whilst driving through town.
A few years ago I almost got rolled along the central Armco of a dual carriage way while on my GS. A Merc came down from a fly over and joined lane one, didn't notice the Fiat 500 in front of her until the very last minute then swerved into my lane where I was. She was texting with her right hand with phone on her lap and left hand on steering wheel!!! 6 points and £200 was served! I just hope she's learnt a lesson.
Sadly nail on the head...We have a huge problem here with the car scene , stupidly loud exhausts banging and popping at all hours along with speeding in 30mph residential areas. They've also adopted a local business park for drift meets. Leaving behind shredded tyres, smashed bottles, take away litter and even shit filled nappies. Some of the tic tok videos i've seen are bloody insane, they take their families along to watch who stand a few meters away from a drifting car. My nephews knows a few of them, their attitude really is they absolutely do not give a fuck about anyone else as long as they get to do what they want and someone else can clear up their mess, just like mummy did.
I haven’t seen the program, but have seen the dashcam footage. It’s horrific. That poor couple didn’t stand a chance.
The amendments are due to come into force on 28th June 2022. The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill received Royal Assent on 28 April 2022 and means that the maximum penalty for causing death by dangerous driving, has been increased from 14 years' imprisonment to life imprisonment
I saw some dopey bint at the weekend driving along holding her phone up on a vid call...I shouted at her, 'course all you get back is a 'f*ck off' like you're the one in the wrong. Only way most people learn is stick not carrot...Unless it's a huge carrot rammed up their arse.
