Picked New 1199s Up Three Weeks Ago. Did 4000 Miles Across Europe!

  1. Passing Potenza we were not the only ones on two wheels. The locals looked like they were having a blast around the Potenza ring roads.

  2. The Amalfi Coast is very beautiful. The roads would be amazing when quiet but as you can expect it is tourist central so rammed with cars and buses. I was fun blasting around the cars and buses into hairpins but there's only so much you can do with all your bags strapped to the bike.

  3. Things get much quieter as you cross the mountains from Amalfi to Napoli. The view over Napoli and towards Mount Vesuvius is stunning. The huge sprawling urbanisation reminded me of the Deathstar sequences in Starwars! I didn't realise until this trip but Napoli is the second most densely populated area on earth.

  7. On the home stretch now! it makes me depressed comparing the UK weather to all these pictures. I found an excuse to blast up from London to the office in Oxford today but it doesn't quite feel the same as Italy!!

We went for a blast up Mount Vesuvius where I got myself some 50yr old groupies and MissPineapple got angry with me stopping for scenic wheelie shots. The Volcano is mahoosive, look carefully for the tiny specs of people on the crater rim. The bottom picture was definitely taken for the nice view of Salerno and not because the girl in front had an amazing ass and wasn't wearing much....

  8. Pompei is a well worth while place for a visit. It puts things into perspective seeing how quickly and suddenly life stopped for the inhabitants.

  9. Be under no illusion though, the Romans were randy buggers! it's funny as going around ruins in Italy there's sex everywhere; pictures, brothels, 'spas', etc but if you go to the Roman baths in Bath in the UK there's hardly a mention of the definate fact that the place was a mass of debauchery!!
