Almost bought one a few weeks back. The brand new ones I have seen all had a clear screen. A couple I have seen being ridden on the road have had an extra white decal stuck on the bottom of the screen to make the front numberboard look solid: Standard: http://www.ducatinewstoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Ducati_848EVO_Corse_SE_Studio_FLQ.jpg Add on: http://www.r3owners.net/attachments...-848-evo-corse-first-ride-848-evo-corse-2.jpg
Yeah it's the bottom of the screen. Has vinyl that carries across fairing and screen. Looks shoddy as hell and I'm not pleased with it. Waiting to see what the dealer says.
Maybe just ask them to remove the part on the screen? A few weeks ago when I was looking at ordering my Corse I was trying to figure out if the number board on the nose was as in pic 1 or pic 2. It seems there's bikes with either / both. I much prefer it in pic 1 though somehow so I'll maybe ask them to leave it that way if it arrives from the factory without it on. I'm just meaning the bit fixed to the screen by the way. Shame, as the paint job looks awesome. Hope you get it sorted, it's surely easily resolved at the first service.
If that's the case I wouldn't worry.....it needs a light smoke screen on to finish it off properly anyway.
Dealer emailed me this morning and Ducati are going to replace the entire screen. Screen now on order.
Email received from Ducati UK who said they're fitted by the dealer as part of the PDI and not at the factory.
Sorry but by now I would have got a sharp blade & sliced the excess off & RODE the frickin' thing? Or sat next to it with a cuppa admiring it? Def not slating the thing just because it has some sort of Cuttlefish thing going on with the screen?
Catch up! lol There is a white decal at the bottom of the screen to make the "numberplate" above the headlights look full-size as such? THIS
Its stuck on quite well? The problem being, in all the faff they have forgotten to trim the excess off?
