  1. They look small beside the BM’s IMG_2633.jpeg IMG_2631.jpeg

  2. I put the Dymags back on the 916 SP3 for the beginning of the season. I just love the feeling of these wheels. I love the looks too, but not everyone seems to think they suit a 916 (I do have 998 disks on them…).

  3. I like the style, but for me I prefer a solid colour. Interested in how much you feel they 'quicken' up the steering? I am just putting mine back on the road and am considering simple ways to reduce the amount of effort required in steering inputs and generally make it a bit less hard work to ride now I am an officially old git!

  4. The « quickening up » in the steering feels tremendous… I can’t give you a figure or percentage, if that’s what you’re looking for, though. Let’s say with these, I very rarely feel like I am coming in too fast into a curve, like it happens every now and then with the OEM wheels. I feel way more in control. The downside of this being that I tend to ride significantly faster with these on. On roads, I mean. I don’t track. They make the bike feel a lot lighter. Reminds me of my 848, actually. Which I sold 8 years ago because I was riding way to fast on it…

  5. Good description :) Turn in has always required a bit of effort when compared to my old 'blades for example and I am considering ways of reducing some of this effort without messing around with geometry, etc. Knees and shoulders are arthritic so every little thning might help... cheers, Kev.

  6. Lighter wheels are probably the number one mod to consider in that department. :upyeah::)

  16. Well. My baby Ducati superbike project has just passed its MoT test, no advisories. First test since 2010. Another one saved from scrapping!!

Now time to start showing it some real love getting it back to mint.

  18. That's a lovely looking 996 Chris, nicely done.
My 996 is done up in mid '90s WSBK inspired replica scheme, and I love it, but I also love the purity of all red, no number plates, limited decals of any kind, just as you've got going on. Very appealing, i must say.
Have you done any work on the engine?
Also, how does your 996 compare as a riding experience to your 959? If you had to choose one which would you choose purely from a performance and riding experience point of view? Leaving looks and sentimentality out of it
