There was a very short clip in the show launch video of a bike on the dirt... not something to float my boat.
The new Pike's Peak is meant to be at the NEC later this month. The local folks also said the new Diavel variant is meant to be there as well.
And now we know. Passive Öhlins (a step backwards from the Mechatronics on my '10), Termi as standard - is that the pointless end can or the full system? Anything else new on it? Meh…
Little bit of a disappointment - and I have a deposit on one!! I seriously tempted to just revert my order to a standard S version and get the Akrapovic can. Will make a decision at the NEC show.
What are people's thoughts on these passive Ohlins over the skyhook II? Surely on a bike like the Multi, the Skyhook would give a better ride over a larger range of riding than ohlins can?
1. I prefer the feel of Öhlins to that of the Sachs. 2. The Öhlins Mechatronic semi-active is my personal sweet spot for sports touring suspension (so far). So I'm not at all sure that I'm keen on going back to stuff that I have to manually wind between settings for two-up/luggage travel. And I'd certainly not pay for a purely cosmetic end can - I got suckered on that one first time around.
I was thinking to switch my DVT S to the PP but now I saw the Endure I am not sure anymore. That's one beautiful bike right there, a bold competitor to the ugly GS with much more power, comfort and finesse than one can wish. I am counting on the fact that the majority of parts are already available because of the DVT and I won't need to wait until end of spring for the delivery if I put an order in now.
Manual adjustable suspension Termi stubby end can and a paint job No Quickshifter..?! Dealer told me £3k more expensive that S model ! Is Ducati having a laugh...!!
Keeping my skyhook pp,but i think i may get the white number board painted on the front, the new one looks pretty.
So passive Ohlins is 3k more than semi-active Skyhook and the Skyhook was no cheaper than the electronic adjusted Ohlins? So can we spot where Ducati is playing the margins game? KTM launch tomorrow - 185bhp sports tourer with semi-active WP anyone?
