The introduction of the off road multi is admission enough from Ducati that the road biased multi does not hold water with a true off road bike. Not complaining about that but I wonder now whether the upgrade next year if there is one will be even more road biased. Did like the look of the off road version tho. The x diavel is an interesting addition.
The pikes peak version is a bit of a let down... Starting with the new paint job... The multistrada enduro?... That? I like!
As others have said, the PP looks like an expensive let-down - not even forged wheels or a real exhaust as standard. Stars of the show are the Multi Enduro and the XDiavel, which looks just stunning. And I never thought I'd be saying that about a cruiser.
Why could the designer not even have changed from the previous models white stripe on red? Makes the base model with a good decat pipe, ecu tune, custom paint job, a few extras, look like the way I'd go if I was to change from my 2010 classic.
Technomad, Can I just tell you what the worst let down is?... The fact that the new PP is really nothing new... Exactly the same bike we saw Jamie riding up the Pikes peak hill climb race in June... Down to paint job... No wonder they spent 90 seconds or so on the announcement...
Pikes Peak, whats the guessing on the price? No skyhook so thats a £3K price dif. But add in a termi pipe/Ohlins and carbon, will probably be £16.500?
They really are taking the piss, aren't they? £19220+OTR for a bike that's got lower suspension spec than my '10, during which time the £ has appreciated more than 30% against the Euro. After having had nothing but Ducatis since 1982, I think I've finally reached my limit of abuse. Maybe once VAG is forced to sell Ducati to pay for their criminal behaviour, we'll see a return to a company that makes motorcycles rather than lifestyle accessories.
Wow. The new PP makes my old 2010 S with Electronically adjustable Ohlins look like a better spec! And it's HOW F***ING MUCH???!!
You'd be fucking mental if you paid that much for the pikes peak. I know some lads on here have got the money to throw around but honestly don't bother, get a base model with a paint job, new suspension and a proper exhaust and save £3k.......Obviously I require a 20% commission but you're still up
Agree except s model with Mechatronic and the CJS tune.....best bike out there or even better the PP.
Bit of cash for some white vinyl stripes and you're sorted . I don't think I'd pay £19k+ under any circumstances. Ducati Multistrada by Tobers, on Flickr
Big let down, it looks pretty but unless the price was almost the same (which it isn't) why would you buy it? Manual suspension (albeit Ohlins) and a slip on? Looks like I'll be going with either a White S or Red S (maybe with some vinyl stickers).
