Have seen the new PP - impressive but agree with most of you - really not sure its worth the change cost - my 14PP sorted with Tuneboy QS up/down + cruise and remap - took some time to sort but now perfect - taken a year or so to get used to the SHook - but may now think twice about going back to Ohlins - had a full Ohlins setup on the Diavel which was awesome - but CTG to the new model is serious - even dealers agree its overpriced and underspec - will be interested if spec changes after a year
I agree, I think it's going to be a hard bike to sell in its current guise/price point, I think the dealers are aware of this also!
IF it had Öhlins Mechatronic. IF it had a full Termi. IF it had forged wheels. IF it had carbon-pretty-much-bloody-everything then I MIGHT consider it at that price point. As it is, much urine is being extracted…
Sticking with my 2013,blue sky's, winter sun, sticky toffee latte with a lemon muffin, can't get much better in December.
Am loving my new PP! Awesome bike! Can only compare to my Ktm 1190 adventure R, road manners are obviously much better. Build quality seems comparible, the bike does feel more modern. The LED lights are excellent. The bits that aren't as good; I keep missing gears, the clutch is heavier and the rear brake is hopeless!! Is it worth the money over an S? Probably not, but I wanted a PP, am very happy with my purchase and it will hold its money reasonably well.
Dealers I have spoken too tell me the Ohlins on the PP are the same as the ones fitted on the 1199R and are about £5k ?? I wouldn't know but they do agree it should of had forged wheels !
I think Dream Machine ain't as good as they was several years ago, I had a full bike painted in Laguna saga colour and the tank edge peeled !! Dream machine are local to me, but I no of a painter whom specialises in high end paint jobs, it's his own business and the work he does is all paint no stickers at all and will replicate a pikes peak cheaper then DM, majority of his work comes from forums and he does a lot of old school stuff, only issue he is down south but its worth the travel. Have a look at his work. CT Motorcycle Services Also 10 pages here, this man is top dollar . Paint jobs - Please take a look.
On The 1200 MUTLEY the rear brake is cosmetic only. Considerable engineering is required to achieve a functional rear brake.
Thanks for the feedback but it was arranged by the dealer and it's already gone off to be painted. My last bike was also painted by them and I had no complaints.
Think yourselves lucky guy's. It's gonna cost me 20K GBP for a S model where i live so just gonna order the Termi stubby, Get it painted and keep the Skyhook system.... The way it should have been done by the factory....
Changed my mind and got one of the first PP's in Thailand. In the 30Km's i did before a coolant hose split I'm impressed.
