V4 Pikes Peak

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Steelboss, Oct 10, 2021.

  1. I have just test ridden a V4S and it had the full system on. The first couple of times I used the QS I thought someone was whacking the back of the seat with a wooden plank! It was proper loud (but sounded great)

  2. Had the same experience on my '22 MTS V4 PP w/Akra Race Exhaust & UpMap after the annual service. I have ordered the AIS Block-off Plate Kit from Smart Moto, to eliminate the air getting introduced into the exhaust stream, which is not required with no cat downstream:

  4. @Multirider75 I'm looking at luggage options. The one you use looks very neat. I like the idea of being able to just take the whole thing off easily. How does it perform in the rain? I don't think the bag is classed as waterproof? Do you have to make sure the contents are all in separate waterproof bags? I'm currently using a Ventura system which would fit the PP but the SW bag looks much better. TIA.

  5. There’s a test in this week’s MCN.

    It’s not exactly extensive…

  6. It’s a great bag. You get a waterproof inner bag, which velcros to the inside. When I travel, I have to take my work laptop/ iPad & other valuable items, have been caught in some proper monsoons, and not a drop of water has ever got in, so it’s fully waterproof.

  8. Can someone help. Want to change the Riding mode settings to passenger and or luggage. I go into:

    Settings
    Riding Mode
    Touring
    Preload
    Rider and Luggage
    Select High / Low

and nothing happens, scroll back and no display for rider and luggage.

I can change in solo rider but not when adding passenger ?

  12. I’m sure you will love it, once you get dialled in, you will be quicker than the sports bike and more comfortable!

  13. Not sure why the 17/17 combo would be twitchy? these bikes had 17/17 throughout the years
and PP will be set up like the previous with the single sided SA.. had a 13 PP and I never felt it was twitchy

  14. If anything 19/17 is twitchy, 17/17 is properly planted.

  15. I think you're smiling not because of that new bike feeling, rather that you're sitting straight up and your back is loving it....lol Don't let the long legs fool ya- it's a sport bike

  16. The MTS V4 PP is the 1st bike in a long time that I feel confident pitching it deep into corners at "sporty" speeds on curvy back roads. I am not quite to chicken strips, but I'm dam close. I have a regular riding buddy with a '17 Yamaha R1, and I typically lead when back road blasting, and he's impressed how much speed we can carry through the corners.

I also enjoy the midrange torque of this V4 motor - it really helps with corner exits, among other things.

  17. Not sure if anyone has replied? but if I understand what your asking...?
I think you just hit the button with the shock icon and choose from there

  18. Just got back from playing on the IOM , second time this year and I can confirm that having gone originally on the supplied Pirelli Scorpions and now Michelin road 6’s that the 19 front is not twichy at all. 19 is very slightly slower turning in compared to the 17 but rides over uneven surfaces a little better.

  19. The recent review by LCR on YouTube he sounded a little disappointed by the PP and said it was not noticeably different to the V4S in terms of handling and ride.
Obviously there are other differences which help to sway people to buy it but engine and handling would appear to not be one of them.

My V4S has been serviced today and a two software updates added plus the new phone pocket lid. It is just the lid that is replaced not the whole cover so the phone pocket size remains the same.
