  2. Fuck that! Isn’t the point of a bike to get away from the wife, not take her with you.

  4. m pretty new in this forum and I just ordered the new PP to be arrived mid Feb (Im based in Sweden). I am taking a big leap of faith as Im replacing my old GS and S1000RR by the "Fastest armchair" ... was it a big mistake? time will tell :/ The reason being is to be able to comfortably travel long distances with my better half and still be able to put on my leather and have fun in the track. I know it wont excel exceptionally on either but Im hoping it will be a decent compromise...

  8. Now that’s a crap review.

  9. Moving on from the wife comments and the 'you need to get a life, I screw my missus a million times a day' absolute bu**shit that's drowing these threads, I really like the look of the Pikes Peak and have for a while but agree that the number 1 is a little odd.

Personally, I think the 17 inch wheel would give me more confidence even if just in my head, as us life long sports bike riders seem to take a little while to get used to bigger ADV style wheels regardless of the chassis magic worked.

My only comment on the actual reviews, is that Chaseon2wheels is an acquired taste for sure, can't argue with the effort and investment he puts in though, running camera cars and all sorts to try and get decent footage, and he does do some more critical reviews.

44T are loosing it, so many little 'digs' in Al's footage against this or that comment on the internet rather than focusing on the bike he's on, and if you watch lots of their videos you can see how much he re-uses the same sound-bites.

    Good examples are:

"It's just so much more Fluid, Ducati's of old could be so lumpy blah"
"The chassis used to be like two scaffold poles"
"The suspension is so two stage"
    "The staccato nature"

  10. Dont quite get the bullshit bit as a bit of banter makes the forum interesting , bitching perhaps not , any way , the 17 inch and wider rear will make a massive difference in the dynamics of the bike as the standard ( as I have said before ) is sharp , but at the expense of the lack of grip and footprint associated with narrow tyres , the upgrade will give that extra that some (not all) will appreciate and build upon. The engine is smooth , against the on off of the older lump , but again this is character to which you align yourself to from previous likes / dislikes . My old 1200 MT was great but I dislikes the engine feel , the V4 is (again for me) a revelation in engine feel and performance against the opposition .
The PP will for me ,balanced against the miles I have done on my V4s Sport , outweigh the cost , dislikes of small details as above all this bike should and will give the extras I for one want from the upgraded V4.
From a chap who is waiting for the delivery of the new bike , watching any video is great as its a ball ache waiting for the arrival , so carry on feeding me the so called junk ... i must be a junkie..

  12. I’m still waiting for a review where someone actually gets to nail it on the twisties instead of this pussyfooting around. It’s a Pikes Peak for godsake, these reviews may as well be on a commuter bike………. Rant over ;)

  13. They should have given the camera to the guy in the leathers doing the stand up wheelies , now that would have been great.
Did think the same as well , they do need to spank the bugger a bit , low revs , low speeds. oh well roll on next week.

  14. I’m doing the man math on my stable, on the principle that this will almost certainly be my last ICE bike, so may as well head out with the best of breed.

  17. I think Josh made one or two comments about the bike that Ducati wont have been too happy about, but he's a racer, so unless it's 200bhp+ and stiff as a board, he's unlikely to think much of it!

  18. I will more than likely pass one or two of these much hyped Pikes Peak on ze old '1250gs mothership' this year.

    They may be parked up...o_O
