V4 Pikes Peak

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Steelboss, Oct 10, 2021.

  1. As already mentioned why would you want that on this PP? I've got heated grips thrown in.......:joy:

  2. Now that's more like it :upyeah::upyeah:

  3. Certainly the V4 Mutley that most of us wanted in the first place but specing it out to what I have already with my 1260s comes to north of £27k which is ridiculous IMHO.

  4. Nice...pricey, but nice..

Personally I’m just confused over the Ducati range, if this is aimed at the track why would you not choose the SF V4S for example, which is cheaper and probably better for that purpose, and a full set of leathers with knee sliders on a Multistrada !

And as I said before just been offered one of these for £19300, now I am confused..

  5. Exactly what I got to on the configurator.

I’m taking a deep breath but won’t be placing an order for a month or so.

  6. I have said this earlier, 30k plus euros here. If coming in at £27k there, then probably closer to 32k euros at least here.
TBH, I also would prefer a twin. Probably looking at the R1250gs which has loads more low down torque than the V4.......add in the local to me BMW dealer is very good, but a huge question mark over the nearest Ducati dealer. Not looking like a PP for me.

  7. Crazy bike for the vain.

  8. Got mine to £27959.93, before any negotiating. Eek!

  9. For those that are vertically challenged - seat height is same as the V4S - so did not gain anything with the smaller front wheel...

Its a lot of dough ...

  10. I do like the new PP livery except for the No '1' which looks like, to me, an after thought - the lines are all wrong. But sadly I will be sticking with 1260S for the foreseeable as the V4S and the PP are a bit out of my reach and too flippin' expensive for me. Nice tho' :)

  12. Plus local taxes, heated grips. Panniers. 6C3A6E1D-23CF-4E5A-9497-09DE08F1C676.png

  13. And I've already got glasses and they definitely work too........:upyeah:

  14. It’s everything I hoped it would be.
No doubt a test ride will be impossible

Wallet says, ridiculous price and unjustifiable especially if the better half finds out.
Heart says, where do I sign. :imp:

  15. Is it as long as it looks, what is the wheel base? The GS looks smaller

  16. Well having categorically voted against the V4 in any previous form/guise, as I simply couldn't stand it AT ALL, this version certainly changes my opinion. This, to me anyway, is the V4 I was probably waiting for Ducati to sort out. Yes the No1 on the side is not great, however, everything else works for me, other than the utterly ridiculous price, which may well delay the replacement for my 1260S, when it reaches it's 4th birthday. Next April 2022
Might have to start saving, especially if I want, heated grips, centre stand, additional lighting, panniers, topbox, etc, for touring!:triumph:

  17. It looks nice. But it does not look that nice. Pricing also puts in the category of “look at him with too much money..”
It still looks too long as well...

So, 2022 will probably be this
    2A7EE7C2-1C10-4BB5-B628-D5DB4D36D930.png

More torque by a good margin. More comfort. Defo handles. My panniers will fit. Fully loaded with five year extended warranty, it comes in over 6k cheaper. A bit more weight but loads better on fuel.
Years ago I would have been embarrassed. I think now I would be more embarrassed at the Pikes Peak and the finger pointing.

  18. Interestingly the V4S wheelbase is 1567mm and the PP wheelbase is 1595mm.

I do like the smaller screen so will be getting that for my V4S.

All things considered and the fact that the PP is £7k more expensive that my V4S, i'm quite content with my bike. £7k buys a lot of s/h motorcycle.

  19. And the fact the PP paint job is so gash!
