V4 Pikes Peak

  1. Stability was always the Achilles heel when pushing on with the Multi. Does the new PP have a steering damper...or have they taken the cheap option of extending wheelbase again?
     
  2. So, if the site I just looked at is correct, the R1250GS wheelbase is 1525mm. I know the 1200gs was shorter than the Multi 1260.

  4. 214 dry, I think around 240 wet.
     
  5. 3kg lighter than the V4S Sport.

  7. I quite like the look of the back but the front looks wrong - too much gap - needs a 19" wheel in there :)
    Glad I got the V4S and wont be changing any time soon.

  8. So really heavy then , well at least that’s saved me some dosh I guess.
    3 kg is nothing in the scheme of things
    The weight has always been a big issue for me , it would have to be amazing for me to upgrade.
    And I just don’t see it being much better than the V4S which I didn’t like either .
    It looks really nice though

  10. Reading all the comments, it seems some will be sold :)
    I didnt like the looks at first but have changed my mind now.
    I think they have answered a bunch of the items on the wish list, but for me the price makes it a no go for a sports touring bike that I will put a bunch of miles on. Maybe a low miles s/h one will be an option in future, we shall see.
    Time to go get my deposit back...

You've opened up a biggy. its no different to the 99% of us who don't drive around in an old but reliable banger that would "get us there" or live in a basic shed cos it offers us the necessary shelter but would rather spend our money on something that makes us feel good. cliche time but if the bloody pandemic - and advancing years - have taught us nothing, do what makes you happy! and it makes me happy :) (though might have to sell the 996R if anyone interested :astonished:)

  13. ref this Q, I'm part exing my SFV4S for the PP. No one else seems to suffer from it, but i have done 5k miles on the SF and it still gives me numb fingers (esp on right hand bar) despite heavier bar ends and foam grips - and no cruise for some momentary relief. Only time it was better was hooning round in middle of nowhere in France when constantly at high revs. Obviously my riding style (not revving the tits off it all day) and my hands but done 5k miles in 20 months and time for something else that might be easier......no symptoms on multi V4 test rides :upyeah:

  14. apparently dealers should find out today but expected before year end. though don't want mine till March :)

  15. A pal of mine has his booked for production the second week of January, though he doesn’t want it till March.

  16. That will work though I reckon, won't leave Italy until week 3 of the month, 3 weeks over here by the time it's freighted and cleared customs, a week for dealer prep, will only have to sit for a little while.
     
  17. Yes its a bit harsh.

    Everyone has their own value to everything.

    Do i think its worth that? No! Would i have one if money wasn't an issue? Probably yes.

  18. I’ve been thinking about a more touring orientated bike for a while and ordered a GS last year (useless Fucker in the dealership stopped that though) I bought the streetfighter as a temporary stop gap until the PP was released. Having spec’d it last night 30k seems madness over a GS

    will be putting a deposit down shortly
