V4 Pikes Peak

  1. Must say the top box looked a bit odd and out of place.

What really got me thinking was the £34k list price with the options. That's my 2019 1260S plus a 2020 Pani V4S. It's got to be a hell of a bike at that price.

  2. I’m only leg pulling; people can do what they like. Don’t tell anyone, but I’ve had top boxes on most of my bikes, and like the convenience of them, but on the PP I just couldn’t bring myself to do it! As they were empty most of the time, I’ve found better, more aesthetically pleasing options for this bike.

Bought the Ducati top box (not realising how big it was) and also bought the Givi box which is very neat and is on the bike all the time. On hind sight I should have gone for the panniers instead of the top box , but I never used the panniers on my last bike once. But the Ducati top box is making its debut in 3 weeks when I'm off to France And Spain.

  4. I bought mine to spank back roads. not interested in touring on it so it goes in the van when we hoof across europe and i get it out then to hoon around. :upyeah::cool:

  5. Can you direct me to the survey that provided you this statistic? :innocent:

  6. A survey was attempted, but only 8 of the 1,264 asked had received a delivery. Six of those were waiting for parts. The other two rode fully laden for a ride to a bike meet on a Sunday, so the results were gleaned from them

  7. I’ve always found on previous versions that with top-box or Panniers loaded and ridden hard they cause weave over about 115.
Strap a bag to the pillion seat and it’s fine.
But I do think if touring they look fine with Panniers.

  8. Mine went a bit wobbly at 160mph with a soft bag on the autobahn on the Thursday, but I was on a mission to get back to the UK as quickly (and safely) as possible.

  9. What makes me laugh is the people on here who fit an illegal system then ignore the fact as they believe their insurer will cover them should they have a big accident.
Very stupid and naive, and all for a bit of vanity and ‘look at me’.

  10. Can’t you all just be happy for us PP V4 owners??!!
    :yum

  11. Do you have a web link to where I can get them from? They look different to the ones I saw on the Conquest Carbon website

  12. Look for the most expensive version.

  13. I bought the Ducabike Ducati Multistrada V4 Adjustable Brake + Clutch Levers GP2 2021+ - Silver
Item No LEA16E-MTSV4 about £205 (inc VAT)
Ducabike Ducati Multistrada V4 Adjustable Brake + Clutch Levers GP2 2021+ | Conquest Racing Ltd

These are the cheapest version (!) and suit me just fine. I had Evotech levers on my Monster 821 and didn't really like them as the levers are not rounded on the finger edges and I found them uncomfortable on longer rides. The Ducabike ones have rounded edges and are way better IMO.

  14. Does anyone know what the microswitch on the underneath of the front brake lever is for?

I assumed it worked the brake light, but now I'm not sure.

    Think it's this one.

  16. There is 2 switches, they both tell the ecu about clutch position, 1 operates the cylinder cut off, the other gives information for the quick shifter to operate correctly, they may have other functions I guess..Adaptive cruise I would have thought would be one…

  17. Under the brake lever would disconnect the cruise control I would have thought.

  18. Under the Brake lever is a single switch that will trigger the brake light and will also cancel the cruise control - if engaged. The signal may also go to the ECU / IMU and make suspension changes and a order a small coffee :)

  19. Had a great day out on the PP Sunday. Rode to the Elan valley to see how low the dams have gone. Stopped for a quick drink at Crossagates.

  20. It doesn’t appear to be the brake light. That’s why I’m confused.
