Pinlock Inserts

  1. Or you could try some windscreen tint & use soap & water to add it to the inside of the top zone of the visor. I've done that & it works well enough.

The helmet at the very back has it on the visor, it also has conspicuity tape which is why its reflecting the flash so much.

  2. Hope this isn't high jacking thread to much but, what do peeps clean their pinlock's with if at all ?

  3. Me? Nothing.

  4. Another one in favour of the insulation tape across the top of the visor, leave it on all year round it's unobtrusive enough and even with a fully tinted visor still has it's benefits..

  5. Best thing I've found for low sun is a peak. I have a Tour X and the peak is great at shading your eyes

  6. I get the peak idea but doesn't it try an rip you head off at speed?

  7. Very carefully with a little bit of soap and plenty of water. Rinse off and let them air dry. It is very easy to ruin them if you are too hard on them, the surface is very soft and scratches very easily.

  8. +1 on the Lazer helmet with photochromic visor. I never even think about glare, just concentrate on staying alive and enjoying the ride (in that order!).
Even riding directly into the sun, as long as I don't actually look at the sun it's fine, and it reacts quickly enough that I've never had to flip it up to be able to see.

  9. I thought it would but actually it's ok and not really any worse than a no peak lid. Had it originally for an 1100 Multistrada and have also used it on the Monster 1200R. The peak is quite well vented on the tour x

Let us know what you think of it once you've tried it out. :upyeah:

  12. Tried just about every combination going.
Shark with internal sun visor, no good due to distortion (not optical quality). Plus the Shark visor with pinlock doesnt work well.
Photochromic insert (anti fog) few years back on AVG, sort of worked, see earlier post about delay for light/dark. But seal against visor was naf (just like the helmet!)
Shoei ADV hornet with peak, and pinlock. Pros, great with over head sun. Pinlock works. Cons, shit if its sunny PLUS the road is wet due to light reflecting...unless the peak can be fitted to the chin area, you are, well fekd! Plus neck issues if you tend to make 'progress'.
Now ride with tinted visor and pinlock. Carry a clear with pinlock for rain/bad viz situations. No peak.

  13. Yeah @Wally no problem, looking forward to it. I've seen the electric activated visors (make I can't recall) but when queried about are they waterproof they weren't. This solfx kit is effectively a limited shelf-life U.V. activated system. With an IAM membership discount it cost me £160 & I probably could of imported it cheaper from usa but hey-hoo. This is effectively my...
