Everything was fine, pressure set as per manual and no cleaning products used on the tyre. Only explanation I could think was the age of the tyre which was from 2016.
I was at a track day recently when an old retired racer turned up with one of his old 500cc two stroke bikes. He only did a few laps but was still impressively quick. On looking round the bike I noticed the rear tyre was date 1987!!! Clearly age isn’t everything!
I never implied I was a good rider. I'm sure any good rider would had kept the tyres. I personally did not feel safe with them.
The tyres on my 400 are from 2000. Did alright at Cadwell on them. I’m not the fastest or most experienced but they gripped fine. Gave me pause for thought.
Easier said than done. I don't know how wide your roads are but down here they are not very wide. Try an do a round about from the inside lane without touching the paint. Little bit of bike lean and little bit of slippage. I get some nasty feeling in my gut.
