heres yer problem. Fit Surrey flange over rated and over priced..... i am currently trying to get my lad to consider a trade instead of collage or uni. plumbing and electrician is where the bucks are and always will be.
Not more then 10 hrs work , so too expensive, you might as well fit a Combi boiler, job could be done for around 2300 all in
Give carwyn Roberts a ring, he travels far, young lad, very hard working, all the qualifications, very good with his pricing, , converted my solid fuel central heating system, to a gas combi for half the price of the local plumbers 07591 607154
get an unvented cylinder with a new y plan system and pump, then you can do away with the header tank. A 250/300 litre cylinder is around £600 (I like telford cylinders) The quote you have had isnt bad. But I would have a plumber not vat registered and save 20%. Cylinders are always best over combis imo because if /when the boiler fails, you simply put the immersion on.
Max 2 days for 1 person. Don’t fit smart pump get old style 3 speed, more reliable and cheaper. Use Sussex fitting not Surrey for shower hot supply. Surreys go wrong.
Correction @Old rider . surrey fitting for shower are what you want. Like this. Essex are the ones to avoid, they boss into the side of cylinder and can leak after a while. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/391502450477
I want some oak paneling for my hall. How much, normal ceiling height, need about 25' in length, ever done anything like that?
Air or Ground sourced heat pumps (service or install), as a shit Subby he'll make £30 an hour and good one £60.... run you own business and mind you own business.... I'm loving all these prices.... I'm half in the trade and a few of my mates are.... You need to compare actual model numbers and get the plumber to explain (sell) why they have chosen each part. You can spend £400 or £3000 for the same power boiler... just depends on make, model and type. Same with pumps. London plumbers (Gas Engineer) cost me £250 a day (7 hours for some reason) for a good one.... £160 for his mate or a not so good one. All plus VAT
get your rates up, good joiners are worth £25 an hour. If you break down your overheads, the average is £10k a year, which is £5 per hour off your rate. So at £12-50 an hour, you may as well be employed, with holidays, sick, and pension. Not trying to offend, just get you to put your rates up
I've never liked combi's and we couldn't have one anyway as we've circulating hot water.... pet hate of mine having to run a tap.
I've done plenty of panelling over the years, there's so many variables to what you want, size of panels, raised or flat panels and so on. There's this panelling I did for the film set of Jane Ayre, fairly plane but had to be uneven to show its age, it was stained to look like dark oak. I can't find any pictures of some I did with 6ft x 3ft raised panels. Steve
