That gear lever already looks to be set up for race pattern as it is attached directly to the gear selector shaft.
They are gorgeous in a chunky style and the cam adjustment is genius in its simplicity. I am going to have to sort the brake lever out. I have a set of Gilles for my 748r when u get around to it.
I have found the answer, they were made by Migliore and I believe the owner of the business actually died and the son didn't want to carry on. My rearsets have stood the test of time and still look pretty good on the anodising front. Sean Cork (Bungi) of Ducati Race Support supplied all three sets to me, but the price rose steadily over the years.
You may well be right, I don’t know for sure, only what I have been told from a knowledgeable source. I wonder if it’s a bit like DP and MS Production?
MS Productions were used/sold by Ducati as genuine parts, DP equipment were parts sold by Ducati. Before DP Ducati sold "Up Grade" parts under the Gio-Ca-Moto label/banner. An awful lot of parts sold by Ducati as genuine parts are actually made by outside companies. Steve R
Yes, that was my point. I have emailed Poggipolini this evening to satisfy curiosity. I may get a response and if so will post up what they say. I like this sort of thing - part of the mystique that makes Ducati so special.
I might be wrong but I found it strange that Poggipolini made rearsets. If they did, why did Chili’s bike always have the NCR rearsets when Poggipolini were one of his main sponsors...
They’d be like gold dust if they were, mate. When they were with NCR, they were selling the complete set of titanium engine bolts for about £1.5K! They were / are mega expensive but quality!
I was worried about that when Nitron recommended to mount it there but, no, I have to think to move my leg / knee inwards to just touch it. Even on righhanders.
I think Poggipolini have a financial interest in NCR, or may even own them, but not sure how long any such arrangement has been in place, but could have been when Chili was racing. Mr Bimble.
I think you bought these off me on eBay, why I didn’t advertise them on here first I don’t know, seeing them on your bike makes me want them back . Enjoy!
I too found a set on eBay, paid £120.00 if I remember. Was missing a bearing that sits in the gear changer pedal, but easily sourced for a few quid. I see there are two sets on ebay for £600!!!...Not got a close up, but your your left side seems to be set up different to mine. Your gear changer pedal seems to be bolted into the rearset itself? Very grippy pegs and work a treat.
