No problem at all. It's a very good metal polish to have in your arsenal, Not as aggressive as Autosol but definitely kinder for regular use if needed and leaves a great finish. Once your Butler returns with your Ferrari then ask him to do your posh dinning utensils with it, those knifes and forks polish up a treat.
Well. Used the harpic today...relatives over the road so...wife currently pissed with cousin which gave me the chance get to work a little...this result so far is just an initial paint brush over with the harpic, left to soak then another dose and finish off with a metal brillo pad thing...I've not got a brass wire rotary brush yet so I'll have to wait a few days...so far so good...many thanks for all the pics and links...
For stainless it's possible to use varying grades of wet and dry, then use a polishing wheel with the three grades of polishing sticks then finish with autosol.
Just getting used to it....did the harpic thing today on the zed today....half hour of soaking and then a bit of wire wool and then a quick polish with the autosol. I've not received the mops or the brass rotary brushes yet...so when all that turns up I'll carry in with the hyper exhausts...
Well...I'm impressed. This was about a half hours work on the one pipe...using my battery drill so I'll use the mains one when I get back to it on the weekend ( probably Sunday ) as I'll be visiting ducati John on Saturday with the poorly hyper motor... The brass rotary brushes really make the difference. They take just enough off but in the best way....the more you use the brass wire brushes the easier the polishing is.
Nice, but, theres something i like about a. Doing it myself. and b. the satisfaction of that. Plus ive got all the tools in front of me to do my rsv4, the zed (properly) and my 525 supermoto, think ill need some more autosol though!
For the upkeep, get some 0000 grade wire wool from somewhere like B&Q, its the finest stuff like candy floss. Use that to apply and polish with Autosol then clean it off with a cloth. It takes all the heat tarnish off with a bit of elbow grease and restores a nice shine. Stuart
You can come polish my pipe anytime!!.....have a look at BRITEMAX twins.....an awesome combo for metal.
http://www.thepolishingshop.co.uk/acatalog/Polishing_Mops.html Sisal mops with polishing compound used on a drill will remove the grain marks from the wire wheel. Then use a cotton mop with polishing compound and they’ll come up like mirrors. The more you reduce the Ra (roughness average, which is the scratch profile of the surface), the pipes will stay cleaner for a long time. Looks good btw, good job ✅
