I've told them that flat out that if they put up my cost I'm leaving. When ever I have this conversation, I always have the alternative supplier and their price to hand so Virgin know I'm not bluffing. My contract is currently expired and so its month to month. This has happened a few times during the last seven years and then I get an email saying that the price is increasing to £50 or something similar, so I refuse (as above) and they relent if I accept a years contract. I then agree provided the rate remains the same. Your deal is pretty good too. Mobile with unlimited calls & 5gb data is worth a fiver. You you are paying £23 for all the TV and double my speed so its not terrible!
Yes, not too bad. Phone is SIM only but unlimited except for data which is 20GB/mth with one month roll-over. I never get close to using half of the data...
I couldn't stomach BT charging me £75 to wire in a new data socket so bought one on ebay and did it myself for 7 quid. Got them to activate the FTC service and went from 25Mbs to 70Mbs download and 20Mbs upload. Then wired in a complete wifi bridge and 2 mesh networks to seamlessy cover the house and annexe/garage, plus a 4 dish mesh in the house. All fully integrated with voice commands in either building and through my car/phone when not at home plus a seven camera security system thats accessible remotely or through a local server. Not as expensive as you might imagine if you do it yourself.
After reading your post Jez I spoke to Virgin and they reduced my monthly payment by £19 and they gave me an O2 6g sim card all for £29 per month. I always challenge my insurance renewal quotes but it has been a long time since I have been on to Virgin for a reduction.Thank you Jez for spurring me on.
