I’m struggling to believe how tight it feels tbh. Ok no big footfulls but smooth as silk. And sounds real quiet motorwise. Just a burbling low sound from the exhaust is all you can hear in the cab Good to know about the doors, noticed they sit a little proud. Glad it’s normal
Way way better to be complaining about electric mirrors not working rather than a vague steering feel from bushes being ropey or the engine not being right
Can’t believe how easy the steering is or how light the car feels on the move. Tbh can’t wait for a dry nice road Think I’m over the remorse lol Just try and get these bits sorted. General consensus seems to be an import of that age is no different to an original official import: it came in very early in its life, is in great condition visually with lots of recent engine work and tight as a drum
How come it's an import from Germany but right hand drive? Agreed though it makes no difference if it's not a left hooker, sounds like a really good buy with all that work and ready for big smiles.
Probably one of your lot (well pongos, not matlots) that bought while based there in RHD then posted back to Uk and brought it back.
Ah right I see, that makes sense. Technically that is one of 'my lot' since I'm signed up with Her Maj in a reserve capacity again just now! Racing with the Army Endurance Team this year which should be fun
Ar, three goes that bandwagon to leap on too Just jealous I’ll be attending some rounds in my weekend car
No 'oh sailor' opportunities now! Although 'Once A Marine Always A Marine' so now I'll just be getting sh*t from both sides Be sure to let me know if you are coming along and I'll get you in the garage with us for coffee and bromance. Any 'oh sailor' jokes and I'll crack out the phot of you in Snetterton med bay.....
No, something far more mundane. Anyway, I have 2 LC's. @wroughtironron is minding one for me, he just refuses to give it back.
Looks like you have radial master cylinder on there Ron very trick for an LC and just spotted the Ypvs lc2 rear brake master cylinder also a disc rear brake and the best bit i like is the headlight brackets the only one at the time if not the first to have standard ones cut and welded to fit wider forks but i don't think its what Rob is after
I've decided to sell my 2005 997.1 Carrera S. It has 111,000 on the clock and going strong. Full service history (OPC and independents) and is generally a great car. Everything works and it's in neat condition. 3.8 Carrera S Extended black leather with sports seats PSM / traction etc. Bose / Nav Usual refinements like electric windows, central locking etc. It has the following faults, for full disclosure: Stone chips on front bumper (booked in for repaint 1/2/18 of front bumper) Scratches rear bumper (booked in for repaint 1/2/18 of rear bumper) Scratch on N/S sill (booked in for repaint 1/2/18 of N/S sill) OSF shocker (PSM) knocks on bumpy roads Needs 2 rear tyres (Continental Sport Attack I think are what's fitted all round right now) Will be sorry to see it go, but we're getting a hound and the kids insist on growing (and complaining from the rear seats)... so a Volvo Estate (or similar) beckons. As it stands: £16,500 With tyres & paint bits sorted: £18,500 (paint @ £600, tyres @ £500 plus my time and effort to sort it) (if @El Toro needs this moving to the "for sale" then that's fair and reasonable - but to get the attention of you lot I thought I'd mention it here )
Yes indeed, hence the scratches on the sill and rear bumper, but those were the only scrapes involved and I can laugh about it now. Testimony to the robust nature of these fine vehicles. Off to look at a Volvo tomorrow afternoon and they'll take it as is and give me £15.5k PX without quibble. So if someone's so-minded and wants to snaffle what is possibly one of the cheapest 911s on sale in the country then there's a deal right there.
