My Dad signed the petition to renovate it as he used to race there in the 1950s. They very kindly gave him a lapel badge with "ancien pilote" written on it. He was properly chuffed with that.
I can see from your avatar that you’ve kept the White gear theme into your later years. In all sports there’s always one or two that will bend the rules, they’re just *****.
Having had a Mother who adores Cats and owned a lot, I can only go off experience and be truly honest, some cats are just **** .
Aragon this week on the MV F3 800 RC. Had to make the best of the corners to overcome the back straight speed deficit.
The noise alone makes me miss mine tbh! Still look at it for sale most days and think I should go buy it back...... It's amazing how much the litre bikes gapped you down the straight, when I had mine I didn't think it was as quick probably as the Panigale 959, but was appreciably quicker than a 600. Aragon has a monster straight though off a slow corner which doesn't help does it. Nice riding though! did the 749 get a run out also or is that for a later trackday?
To gain on the corners I had to be much more adept at keeping the engine above 10k or those litre beasts would have me everywhere. The Z04s also let me gain a bit on the brakes into T1 & T12. I also learnt how fast you can go into T16 to gain exit speed up the hill for T17 (final turns).
Just got back from 3 days in Jerez. What a trip, what a track, what a bike the V4 Pani is . This is the last two laps of the last session on the last day, I was the only bike left on track! The 2 day old rear tyre was struggling a bit but, to be fair, the KR108 MS3 compound held up incredibly well in the high 30 degree heat.
Cheers, the riding was getting a bit scruffy and holding on while accelerating was getting difficult due to arm pump and the fact that I was getting completely knackered! Had a huge smile the whole time tho, love Jerez, great track.
Completed California Superbike School, Level One last week at Brands Hatch. Wow, what an experience. Sure wish I had done this yeeeears ago Still, getting huge value out of it, even after 20 years of doing trackdays. Shot below was taken from a session when we had to use NO BRAKES in a single gear (third for the duc) and still hit our turn-in points and apexes. This was actually a hell of a lot more fun than it sounds. Got level 2 booked in for later in the year.
You were not in the team garage……. Le Mans August 3-4 and Valencia October 16-18 we have a team garage.
