And a bit of a time warp.....Performance Bikes Frenzy at Oulton in about 1989 Note Frank Thomas boots, AGV lid, scuffed knees and no sliders.....
oh yes, the socks. Those boots were class weren't they? When I retired them the bloke at the shop I was buying new boots noted the top buckle was chamfered....in getting knee down then I scuffed through leathers, sock and buckle.....those were the days. Outside of little toe was worn through too. btw the second or third time I got knee down the leather wore through to skin. Ouch, not recommended. Hence the crap attempts with gaffer tape. Sliders weren't easy to come by then and most leathers didn't have the Velcro in any case. times move on; from leather.... to plastic...
here's some recent moving pics  Brands GP 6th Aug on the 916 Silverstone 14th Aug on the 750SRAD
Brands, last week on an ancient Honda XL 600 with Knobbly Nylon tyres. My 749s decided not to play ball and didn't want to go out to play the day before the trackday, not wanting to waste the money I thought I would take a chance and see if they would let me on track with this. Bit hairy going round Paddock Hill bend as I thought I was going to loose the front every time but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Chuffed when the startline Marshal came over to me on the last session grinning and said " You've done really well on that, really good to see it on track"
Ducati track day Brands Hatch GP - WET WET WET bit oa a wet day at Brands.... first time GP , first time wet day in 18 year.... stood my ground thanks to rain tires..
