Might be worth giving them a ring. I've seen 899's and 1299's with non standard exhausts there on NL days, and I think they might have a 'Ducati exception' where you only get drive by, but not 100% sure as there's not many Pani's that make 102 static as a guess If I was in your shoes, I'd test it myself with a maplins DB meter for £30 and give them a ring
This was at Nuffield at silverstone national circuit, however I asked the photographer if he could get a pic at Copse as well, he didnt get it but 1st time on the 959 and 1299, 1st time at Silverstone.....I like.....
I don't believe 103dB on Euro4 959. I switched mine for the US 959 exhaust, which is noticeably louder and measured 103dB with MSV. The 1199/899 with Termis and baffles were measuring 104/105ish (all well warmed and trying to keep a shade under 5000rpm). None of them set off the drive my monitors.
Thanks for the heads up, and good to hear the 959 is a potential for getting on tracks here without problem. I'm still worried about the Pani for Oulton but can't really take the BMW as it's being traded in for the R. Hopefully they will be understanding.
it is still with MSV and a higher limit than for us (101dB static) at Bedford. I would imagine there has been some sort of internal communication at MSV, and the problem is even specified in the noise testing section of their website. They are aware of the static test problem and are showing leniency on that with zero tolerance on the ride by. I happened to speak to the noise tester on the way into the track and he said they hadn't had one trigger the ride by yet (at Bedford). I was worried myself with all the chat on the forums, but the problems seem to be at Brands (I don't know if that has changed)
I think the sound testers make it up as they go along, and depending on their mood. I've tested my bike at home with a proper sound meter, and got to a track and it's been 4db different. I appreciate there's differences in ambient temperature, exhaust heat, surrounds etc, but 4db is a large amount to differ by when you consider that the general rule of thumb is 4-5bd = the normal perception for twice as loud.
That's a cracking pic, especially when you consider the 959's were on rather tired looking road tyres rather than slicks
I first conquered the elbow down on Michelin Pilot road 2 on the 996 sps. you don't need super sticky tyres, you just need to monkey off the bike....:speaknoevil: and be confident in your bike handling.
I'm feeling so much love for the Panigale right now! Here's another vid from Oulton with OMCC this week with some nice passing this time.
Your skill progression has been steep my friend Carrying a nice fast pace, looking consistent and safe at the same time.
Wow that bike has some grunt, you make the others look like they are standing still, nice riding. Some interesting lines through Druids though.
Going through Druids like that was really fun. I was taking loads of people by braking late over Clay Hill into Druids and then taking the inside line and just squaring it off on the outside apex to get the drive out.
