Tell me about it! I ran up the hill on adrenelin, through the tunnel and back to the pits, and then flaked out and got karted off to the med bay!
There’s always one person in a photo that uses the middle finger, who is the miserable looking guy without his lid on ?
Fair play @royalwithcream that r6 of your takes a beating ! Glad to see it rebuilt every time though bud.
Middle finger protagonist ... thats me, guilty as charged .... The miserable git is Steve, he was on the Hyper and the only one to get morning sessions, so was just knackered rather than grumpy !!!
A few laps onboard from Donington. I left the pits behind a V4, so obviously I had to play! I’m under no illusion that with some slightly better lines the V4 would have destroyed me, but I’m still claiming the victory!
I think that may be Etherion off the forum. If it is he looks like he's fighting the V4 because I've seen him go round Donington a lot quicker than that on an R6.
I think all the trickery was turned up to 11 because it wasn’t making any shapes and the front wasn’t reaching for the sky. From my experiences on the 1299S, the trickery really dulls the acceleration. Definitely the look of someone coming to terms with a new toy and this was only the first or second session, although he does need to get more to the left going into the old hairpin and McLean’s.
The lines were big bike not super sport lines. And the way it pulled on you into the straight bits...if that’s hampered acceleration
Hi NGNG, that is me indeed - 3rd time on the bike but going around donny about 10secs off my r6 times so defo a bit slow. Was suffering from brake fade from the first session - lever was coming to the bar after 1 lap or so, had to brake way early and coming in after a couple of laps to avoid having no brakes at the of the straight. There were some other issues where I will be addressing - I'm struggling on staying on the bike during acceleration. Not sure if this is because I;m used to an r6 - but even then the zx10 I had previously didn't have this issue. Therefore ended up using the day as trying to make changes to my body position and fitness back on the bike lol. Ended up leaving early to drop the bike off at the dealers to fix the brakes and have some recalls done. I remember seeing the white pani going by
Mary Hinge had trouble with brake fade on his V4 and I did on my RSV4. I put some DC pads in and changed the fluid to Motul 660 and that sorted mine. I'm still about 5s off my best pace around Donington but I don't push very hard these days and know I can ride at that pace all day long with no drama of my own making.
True Nick, and I wasn't hammering the brakes either. I've since bled them and they seemed ok. Pads are done though after 2 steady track days.... As you know, I wasn't going daft.... Off to Neil at Cornerspeed in a couple of weeks for it's 600 mile service
