Preziosi has a plan to help Rossi!!!

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by duke63, Jul 5, 2012.

  1. Well its amazing that Bayliss went round Imola on it faster than he had his WSB bike.....and I rate Bayliss much higher than I do Checa........

  2. Yeah and stoner could ride the wheels off the GP bike but Rossi cant. No one else can come to think of it . Maybe that bayliss is a bit special. When we see scott smart getting up to where he should be instead of almost getting lapped I will believe that there may be a slim hope . Everyone has there own opinion and mine isnt hopeful. You can think that it will happen .I dont.

  3. We will all find out if The Panigale lives up to what Bayliss has said about it next year, I hear also he has left ducati as test rider ?

  4. Its all well and good saying that, but you have no appreciation of the difficulty that running the control Motec ecu on the Panigale has handicapped it....its NOTHING like the Marelli electronics that the bike has been developed to use and that is the PRIMARY factor that has slowed the development...however.......its getting there..Scott is getting into the points far more often now........

  5. Yeah o.k. we will see . Only time will tell that once they get it up to speed wether it will handle at top level or not. It will be the first none framed bike to do so if it does. Not counting the britten that won a couple of super twin chalenges in the U.S.

  6. The challenges facing MotoGP and WSB engineers are some what more complex than you will ever comprehend.

  7. And no doubt you know all about them challenges.

  8. Absoloutly not, but I have a background that gives me some insight.

  9. Yeah right. And by me saying
" Burgess , Rossi , Haden must all have been wrong then as they were the ones wanting rid of the none flexing carbon effort on the Ducati. But as you know better maybe you should put them right".
You decide that its more than I can't comprehend thinking about the challenges that a moto gp or wsb engineer has. Give your head a shake . You have as much idea as I have . Which in thier world will be very little but at least I can admit that and only compare the results by the performance and not pretend to know better.

Any ways I'm out of this thread I'll just wait to see what happens . Leave it to you experts to fix it.

  10. Rossi had a meeting with Audi top brass on Sunday and by all accounts perizosi looked very uncomfortable with it! (Read it in the MCN on wednesday )
Things will change for the better but as we all know Germans are not like italians and they will work the German way or the highway!

  11. Personally, as Nogaro has been spannering a BSB Panigale, I have to say that I give his insights a little more credence than most.

But as I say, this forum is largely about uninformed comment, or we could all just shut up. Not many of us have a real clue (any more, it would appear, than we have about climate change) so you just have to take it on board.

The one thing I missed was why the BSB Panigale had to work with non-Marelli electrics when it was designed to work with them. Something to do with the rules? Seems like an odd decision if it wasn't imposed.

It is the case that Ducati have always waited a year before competing with their latest Superbike offering. Hardly surprising than the utterly refined predecessor is better than the pretender straight out of the crate. But a race prepped latter-day 999 would knock the 916 into a cocked hat, and the same can be said of the 1098 versus the 999. Or they would never have made the change. I doubt that a year or two's hence the 1199 will be slower than the 1998.

  12. Yes Glid, BSB rules are that all bikes have to run Motec ecu and control systems......closed shop like the single tyre rule.....and control fuel.....

  13. I've got a plan:

Why not have a control engine, a control frame and a control marque?

Then it would be fairer for everyone.

    Doh!

You misunderstood me, i have no idea whether the carbon chassis was too stiff but thats not what i meant anyway.

I had replied to another post that said carbon is too stiff as a product and cannot be altered and it is this that i disagree with, anyone that has a modern fishing rod for example knows that that statement is wrong.

  15. In all fairness all the bsb teams have had to adapt to the control ecu this year and i expect they all have the same problems.

  16. Except that most of the teams have had an EVO spec bike running for 3 years on that control ecu Steve......so for the IL4 Japanese bikes its well developed.....

  17. Ducati have alot to do to catch up then, I hope it takes them less than 3 years  Problem for next year is who will want to race one!

  18. Chassis? what chassis? :)

  19. if suspensions in F1 cars can be made to handle the flex, they should so on the bikes.. why not make a sort of tensioner/twister/flexer between the triple/suspension and the frame??

and shoud we really listen to a guy that gets clobbered in QP to 10 when his team mate is in 4th and even gets beaten by a sattelite rider?
Why doesn't he ride to undisputed top rider of his team first...

    or am i missing something?
