They also had this one up for sale but when i made enquires it had been sold https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1044406
My auto correct had changed carbon panels to Carbonara, so I missed the grilled bit..... damn laptops!
Three very smart motorbikesThe post advert date was 22/12 and at that price £14k it's gone out the door pretty damn fast....i guess
Let us know if you do. I’m not into collecting and hoarding them, I’ve just got an idea into my head to sell my 748 and buy a 998
Yes pleaseOne for the serious collector with that very low mileage/documentation in place, but getting it back to the uk could be expensive with the final sale price plus shipping/tax etc
With that mileage it’s be treated as a new bike, there’d be VAT on the original selling price to pay as well as import duties. Ouch
Out of interest, were the American 998sFE models fitted with deep sump engines unlike the standard 998s models which had high sump motors?
I believe the only US bikes that got the deep sump testastretta are the 996R and 998R (and obviously 999s later on...)
Yep, I thought that the US bikes 998S bikes, did not have a deep sump engine like the european / UK market models.
thought i would make an effort today to reply to your posting, form my experiences with Ducati i wouldn't touch another with a barge pole, overpriced overrated and unreliable , rarepair prices and serving prices are shocking ,let's just liken them to looking at a supermodel! they look stunning but for the love of God dont ask can you buy them a drink because it will cost you a fortune, who ever controls the marketing for Ducati deserves a Grammy, i once recall a friend saying to me !"Ducati are great Bikes but they keep breaking down" figure that one out, i have a 996 seen here on my profile and i've lost count how many its come back it the back of a van, these things are built to self destruct, and that's just looking at the bloody things, service forget it ! mine has been in ducati preston for the past nine month i gave up calling them! i've been given every excuse under the sun , 27 phone calls later and two returned calls from them, i was told they though i had agreed to have it repaired in the winter months, what a joke why would i phone them all summer if that was the case? on top of that its a £2000 bill for a head rebuild, thank you very much ducati and they say they are keeping the prices down for me, normally it would be £6000 "I dont think so"i have gone of topic a little but put your money into something else" sure you might have the admiration of people when you park it up,but its a large price to pay for something that will eventually destroy itself! well done italy i say you may have lost the war, but in the end you got one over on us!
Sorry to hear your tales of woe. Think 998 'narrowhead' engine cured a lot of 996 problems, this is probably why all 998 prices are on the high side compared to later 916 & 996 bikes ?
