Iirc the testa f0/rs engines were 1000km on the cases. 500 cranks 500 rods and pistons. Ti valves were also low time critical too.
Wow! When you say cases do you mean replacement? Surely not? Racing a Ducati looks crazy money. Track days are bad enough.... Ask me how I know
My comment was more it needs someone who wants to just use for trackdays and probably deep pockets if it’s an rs motor. May not be the case, never owned one, but those that have that I know have them stripped and check/rebuilt pretty often All the reason to race it yourself
Yes. Check and/or replace. It’s what makes me make my comm eg about track only and deep pockets. The R is at least made for road use. May be by reducing the revs it isn’t an issue on an rs but like anything built at that level it’s shelf life determines how robustly it’s built. It’s why I wouldn’t buy mag race wheels off a racer either. Shelf life before refurb
They're crazy money new. Parts are something like £35,000 from Corse! I've got access to plenty of parts through Ben at @CodexMotorsport so I have been seriously considering at least trying to race it but I dont want to be forced to use baffles and its thousands for an exhaust that is quiet enough. Storm Performance do a decent looking one with long underseat cans that I've been discussing which looks the best option to actually use it here in the UK. At the moment the priority is just to get it running and I'll decide later what direction to take.
