The bloke comes round and tries to get cash out of you, although I haven’t been for a couple of years.
Pete, Remember these happy days, 84 i brought a racing bantam just to annoy the Ducati singles, in 85 i ran in my 650 allazurra... fond memories
On the cost price front, we're organising a car track day at Anglesey, turning into a private hire of the circuit, £200-£220 per car, 60-70 cars, so Anglesey is £12-£15k, I'm not organising it so don't know the exact cost but certainly closer to £15k than £10 I would suggest
yes, memory shot* but I think the amount of spills compared with car events was one of the main reasons. Ours were all car events, as mentioned, happy memories of a totally different and not at all safe atmosphere back then. *even got the price wrong, after digging around it looks to be about half that.
I’m not sure mate to be honest. we use the national circuit a lot for car track manufacture work and to be honest even that’s like a big roundabout
Goodwood is an old school circuit, and very fast. They’ve had some horrendous shunts at that place over the years it’s also largely just right, right, right, right and a bit more right. I’d imagine it would be a mate for tyres, much like Thruxton
I gave up on UK trackdays a long time ago mainly due to the crumby weather October to March, cost and facilities. Booked so far this year at Almeria, Portimao, Le Mans, Mugello, Valencia and Jerez. Even with flights, hotels and shipping these tracks are great value.
Yes. He had set up a small business servicing, tuning and customising bikes and was in course of growing it at the time of his unfortunate accident. His wife Claire, an excellent rider herself, was left a widow at a fairly young age.
Oh I did. R1, 140 across the start/finish, lifted my head to a find bloke in front of me was doing about 50. Took to the grass on the outside of Madgwick and kept it upright for about 50m until I ent down. Write-off and broken scaphoid.
