If this is the pinnacle of Ducati ownership, then it could be underpriced. £100k is a nice round number which would appeal to the mega wealthy. That swing arm is a lovely thing.

Am I the only one that thinks that making everything out of carbon fibre is a gimmick? I like a well balanced machine with bits of carbon, aluminium, cardboard, hummus, etc. I don't need the bloody inside of the seat cover to be made from carbon. In some things a few grams matter - badminton rackets for example. But this has got 200hp+, it should be able to move a bit of aluminium around.
If you wish to purchase a machine sprinkled with components made of cheese, chocolate, or iron oxide just go to any Ducati main agent's showroom - you will be offered a choice of models.
I like Ducati showboating to a degree, but concentrate on whats current not airy fairy museum pieces that probably only 10% of will only see a proper beating on a track. The SL was some trick bike. Good to see many used for purpose. Wear well to new owners of 1408
Not sure what I would rather own: a Desmo or an SL. Isn't a problem, as I can't own either, but doesn't stop me thinking about it.....but then I start thinking about or would I rather own a MGP or proper WSBK bike...
desmo man, defo ! Not just because its a ducati, but the Desmo is a real proper gp machine - well almost. More so tahn the vfr parts bin special of the 250 trillion pound honda rcv rep

Project 1408-1299 I think your being had... I think it's all code.. From those numbers I'd say your getting a mint 916 for your 60K...Which was made by Luigi at 8minutes past 2pm in December 1999.. An afternoon bike in Dec is not a good idea as Luigi will have been on the vino at lunch for sure.. Mind you the way 916's are appreciating in value 60k will soon be a fair price...
Just posted on Facebook - NEW bike TWO: Spy shots! Ducati's 'Project 1408' £66k, 220bhp Super superbike caught out in final road riding tests
These pics are being posted of that bike on lots of bike news sites. Am I the only one that can see the swingarm isn't carbon fibre?
