I've not got chance to do anything and have now come to the realisation that I'm never going to finish it!..only things it's missing are the airbox bottom nose cone and carbon seat mount. If anyone's interested I'll let the whole project go for £10k (I've spent £12.5k and a lot of them parts weren't brought as the cane off bikes I've stripped!) so all in all around £14k's worth of bits. Or I'll start dismantling it and selling parts seperate, if anyone's interested please let me know else everything will be listed on eBay (at inflated prices due to fees etc) Spec is as above....
Not happy about it..and tbh is a hard thing to bring myself to do, especially after nearly 2 years if collecting and searching for parts!!
I would much rather give people on here first dibs on some of the rarer parts as have took me so long to find/negotiate on..plus the miles I've done up and down the country collecting bits! Things like the frame will only suit a 1098/916 build and is totally bespoke.
If you have most of the parts Tommy, take a step back from the build and put it at the back of the garage. Then restart it next year after winter and get the enthusiasm back to complete it. It would be a shame to see all your hard work get undone.
I'm I'm not aloud to advertise as such on here anymore mate..even though this isn't related to my so called business/hobby (stripping the road bikes) which is a little sad as most of these parts are pretty specialist or bespoke to this sort of build. I'll get something typed up in the next day or so with prices..if anyone wants to PM me I'll happily send over..think that's fair?
Mate, In an idea world that's what I'd do, however..I really don't think it would get used, certainly not something to this spec. Plus is quite an investment to be sitting around. I've been offered a business deal that could change my life so really this money is better put into that (it's still bike related so not the end of the world)
All bits will be reasonably priced..I only want back what I paid so should be some bargains to be had! Rarest bits will probably be the genuine ducati corse carbon panels (ex hm plant/Toseland)
I will be needing some carbon clothes for mine. Are they the vented or closed side ones? iirc they were the later type.
