well todays update... just secured a set of 916SPS twin injector throttle bodies and a NOS 0 miles speedo... all for not a lot. Pics to follow but may take a while as I am in the heart of the lake district as someone is turning 40 tomorrow!!!
Well unless you are going to aiming (and achieving) 125rwbhp, the twin injector throttle bodies will actually hamper your hunt for power. Your fuelling will be rougher using the twin injectors. A common mod to clean up the fuelling on 996's/916's is to mod the throttle bodies to prevent all four firing. 2 is enough..............................but id you want some standard ones.............once again I have a couple of sets sat on the bench....................
well we seem to have discovered the forum whore? do you actually post anything useful or do you just trawl the forum and read lots without actually experiencing real life? Care to share why you think this is a wind up? see now that is a more helpful post, thank you... I have an idea of how I want to use these throttle bodies, and 11 is way better than 10 isn't it!!!
see now that is a more helpful post, thank you... I have an idea of how I want to use these throttle bodies, and 11 is way better than 10 isn't it!!![/QUOTE] The quad injector set-up can introduce a lot more fuel, but the 748 dont need a lot more fuel, it needs air! flowing the heads, increasing the airtube size, using less restictive air filters (or none!) free flowing exhust (50 54 60 full sytem half system?) bigger valves, different spec cams - all in the race to achieve more litres per minute of air flow. PS, i managed 127rwbhp............................... but it by no means a standard 748
Because you appear to be assembling all the bits that most would avoid with a build. So, having got those throttle bodies you are now committed to a certain engine....what engine are you using?
i have 3 pieces of a Ducati a frame, a set of throttle bodies and a brand new speedo... hardly pieces to avoid, but you are welcome to your opinion... and yes I noticed your previous post... very informative and I stand by my comment that you can read the internet and quote what you have read without any real world experience... oh and no I don't have an engine chosen yet, but what I do chose will be something based on my real world experiences and it will work with what I know...
As you seem so obsessed with "the real world" heres my bike i built!.............that should have the real world experience of ducati bike building covered.
So Engines. You said you can manufacture stuff....then from my real world experience....why pay a grand for this Ducati 916 Engine (28.GI) | eBay When a grand or so would get you this ducati 999s engine....... | eBay Those from the real world will know that the old desmo quatro engine suffered big time with rocker flaking issues........given most of those engines are also very old and tired and without history, its illogical on a build to use one of them when a testa stretta more reliable, younger, more modern technology, more powerful, more available, is the same price........ now whos in the real world?
link to the project thread please? I am hardly obsessed (but i think you brought it on yourself with the unhelpful comment this morning) but i have a pet hate of internet warriors proclaiming xyz with no real world experience, heck if i enjoy the thread you link to i may even buy you a beer...
see now by learning things i can understand that i can use a 999 engine if they are compatible (now remember i did say earlier i was here to learn...) and yes I can manufacture anything i need
Thats allright.............but i have a pet hate of internet warriors proclaiming xyz with no real world experience that just wanna nick everyone elses hard earned solutions........... ok ok.....just kidding!
but lets not do a thread drift to my project thread.... as i can be encouraged to throw mud with the best of them
indeed but I will learn myself... i like the idea of the quad injectors (i remember years ago the tuning of RS500 cossies) and will have fun making them work, if they don't then it will be documented here... just the same as if they do work with what I do...
ok 748 frame 999 engine 999 throttle bodies inside a 998 air box or modified 748 996 etc (to take into account your frame cross brace) whatever front end you can afford swing arm ..........go radical go for a 1098 one ( or a modified streetfighter one like mine) rear shock linkage etc 1098 rear wheel 1098 front wheel whatever fits the front end you chose for the track barrys fairings (998RS fibreglass copies) 998 exhaust 999 wiring loom including the race front section 999 cpu with dyno run from cps
but the quad injectors never really worked in fact as has been said most eliminated two of them, besides they dont make any more power......and its also about the spacing of them a testa is different to a desmoquattro besides there are loads of 999 throttle bodies about.
