  1. Pablo, Steve's selling His back up 851 then ? At least he can get to the 250 desmo to do that up now. lol

  2. Not yet mate, what with a back operation, the F1 project and a new odyssey which means I now need new HT leads and battery cables and with working away during the week I just havent had time to even stick my mag wheels on! :frown:

  3. The ST2 engine arrived....
Spent this late afternoon removing the top end while it's on the bench.
First thing i noticed was how light the st2 heads are and how much better the inlet/outlet ports are than the 900ss ones.
    Valve guides are all ok.
Clutch centre has a broken... the norm!! and is worn. Steel outer is fine and so are the new looking plates.

  4. Did the shock turn up Steve?

  5. Yes it did Paul with thanks, How would you like me to pay you for the postage ?

Removed the flywheel from the st2 engine and my god it's heavy enough to sink a small ship.

Brad and bikeboy recommends fitting a early 748 flywheel.
I reckon i'll get £50 if i weigh it in for scrap!

  6. The usual fee mate, a pint next time I see you :upyeah:

  7. Ok Mate :upyeah:

  8. Heres the difference between a st2 1997 and a 748

  9. And the 748 flywheel is also heavy. You can just run it without a flywheel weight (just fit the hub) for ultimate lightness...

  10. On a 2v 944cc It might be a bit to lumpy running no weight at low rpm on the road ?

  11. I started to rebuild the top end on the ST2 engine Today and fitted JE hc pistons (thanks Pete)
waiting for a topend o ring/gasket set to arrive.
    Will then check the squish.

Still looking for a SS rear wheel spindle, ST2 clocks or similar, full fairing kit, SL mono seat and pads, SS carby fuel tank. Radiator (st2/4 916 996 etc)
    2v throttle bodies, 1.6m ecu.
Keith, I'm never going to get a job down in essex (sods law), so can you post the forks and swingarm down to me ?

  12. I now have most bits to start building, Alloy rad arrived and forks, swingarm from Keith. Cheers Mate took me 3 hours to unpack them lol.
Engine topend done with a little porting and je pistons. (a silicon plug works wonders as a guage to replicate a pro's porting on a 2v !!!)
Got lucky on a SL corbin seat and pad to.

I still urgently need a wheel spindle and nuts for a alloy ss swingarm, Also urgently need a top yoke stem bolt and the pre load nut and bearing cup for the steering stem/yoke.

Engine in, and bits done ready to wire it up!
    Question.. Can you use a 3 phase reg/rec on a 2 phase genny ?

  14. I'm supremely jealous now Imola

To answer your question, yes you can I believe, you just don't use one of the yellow wires.

  15. I ran a 2 phase reg/rec on a 3 phase genny before which worked using 2 yellow wires, i was unsure if it would work this way.
Thanks Mcr i will try it out.
