  4. Thanks for the invite, it's actually my 30th birthday next Saturday so will be elsewhere, but keen to meet up later in the summer!

  5. Not sure why you get so little to a tank, as I've travelled with fair number of guys on same bike and they tend to get 80-100 until light, similar to 848.

Best colour scheme btw that Ducati did :upyeah:

  6. @bradders only used to get 60-65 miles out of mine before i had it mapped. now get 75-80 max.

  7. My brother had a 1098 a free years back and was getting 100 ish miles too.

I might get the fuelling tweaked, it has a power commander fitted but not sure how well it's mapped. Might be killing me.

  8. May be worth taking it off and seeing how that goes. Temptation with these motors, as they are so lazy, is high gear everywhere and it can chug fuel then :)

  9. 30!!??? Ya way too young for this forum! I'm one of the babies at 46! But they're not a bad bunch, kept young but their love of 2 wheels i guess. Shame ya can't make the bbq but enjoy ya b'day dude

  10. Everyone I know with a bike, is in their 50's so suits me. Maybe I'm old at heart!

  11. 34 here chaps :upyeah:

  13. Now now chiz no need to get jealous :p

  14. Im the ducati guy in our group, so im the chump everyone coordinates their fuel stops on. The 1198 would get at least 80 and we're no slouches on the throttle. Im hoping the 1299 behaves similarly. Find out tomorrow afternoon when we head off to the alps. Eek

I toured on the 1198 no probs and if I had a blade it wouldnt be used.

  15. that pani round the alps will be epic mate!! be sure to take loads if pics!!

  16. i'LL TRY cOOKY, BUT i AM NOT GREAT AT TAKING PICS. Oops caps. Wifey is the pic taker, im not that great at it and I always forget to take pics. I tend to just use my eyes. :) But I shall make a special effort. Just for you.

Hope the 1299 is better on the hairpins than the 1198. The 11 loves fast sweepers and esp the Juras where mates on HP4 and R1 cannot keep with her. She munches them up. I lose out a bit on the nadgery hairpins, which is partly my fault I guess as I just cant get hang of em and theres fucking shitloads where we are going. HP4 eats me on straights, but I lose him on corner exit stomp. Oh and on the brakes. :)

But I will be taking it steady as Ive yet to gel with the 1299 and find my mojo. It will come hopefully sooner than later.

  17. How many miles are you covering once the fuel light pings on?

We took to the alps last year, travelled down through the vosges mountains and then onto Switzerland for the passes... Furka, grimsel etc. Roads are superb, scenery is breathtaking. You'll definitely want a camera!

  18. We go every year. We base ourselves in La Chiniallon as matey has a chalet. Im usually too concerned with keeping it on the grey stuff and avoiding looking at the 100ft drops.

Im not certain about 1299 fuel yet as ive owned it for just over a week. Usually on 1198 or 916. But 80ish sounds about right.

  19. We stay just outside of Andermatt, often visit the lake at Lausanne.

Not much of a barrier is there! I used a go pro an awful lot as you do miss the views else.

OK might need to get this looked at then as I rode it 120 miles home on motorway at a steady 80 ish and it returned similar mileage I.e fuel light at 65 miles. Must be the fuel map.

  20. That's all about mine was doing before I got it mapped mate, I do ride mine like a twat though. Just love the way they sound.
