  1. is that an alien space ship in the middle of the field, and tanks rolling across towards it?

  2. Manchester has it all, fine dining, shops and very commutable to Derbyshire, cheshire and lakes. And a lot nicer than in the 70's.

  3. Anyone from Rotherham?

  8. Born in Barrow-in-Furness but lived in Bristol (and around it) for the last 40 odd years....I cant even remember what Barrow looks like, used to live on Walney Island....

Having said that I do like Bristol, love where I live - although generally in all the forums that im on and been on most stuff tends to happen north of me....very north of me...I would like to go to flid fest next year but the drive is +5 hours which means ive gotta get a van if I want to go....or a trailer at least....

  9. And ive just read the start of the thread - wow - there are quite a few from Bristol here....never seen any of you!

  10. Funny thing is i was born in Bristol - my parents moved to Bournemouth when i was 3 months old...been here for 37 years now!

  11. But the traffic is hellish. I lived there for years. The jams were bad in the 20th century, but whenever I go back it seems much worse. Nasty speed cameras up tall poles too.

  12. I don't tend to drive in the city centre too much even then I don't find it too bad. I suppose I'm used to it...

as for the Bristol members, does anyone fancy meeting up at Riders for a breakfast some time? It would be nice to put some faces to usernames

  15. Are you talking about 32 City Road. A small shop on the corner? If so that was my Grandads shop back in the 50's and early 60's then it was rented by a guy called Hatcher if I remember correctly. Any way if we talking about the some place it closed many years ago. I used to work in Kings of Oxford (managed by Doug Hailwood) just up the road in Stokes Croft in 1964/65 on Saturdays and school holiday building up Honda C50's and other small Japanese bikes. Grays was also in Stokes Croft in those days.

  16. Yes - think it was a chap called John in the early 80's. :).
