put more in than you need and then the release valve to work down to the target pressure plus a squidge extra
JACO ELITE PRO available from Amazon. It's dead accurate and will outlast you! There's many versions, check them out. Not expensive either.
Never trust their reading, the pressures vary considerably. Good piece of kit though, but use a trusted gauge for actual readings.

Used to double check it with a hand gauge afterwards, now given up as there was never any difference.
