I recognise that place. We spent some time on the beach there in 2002 while spending 10 days in Darling Harbour. Also went to the obligatory Bondi Beach and Coogie Beach and numerous ferry visits round the harbour. I loved it there. I meant to say we moved down to Melbourne for a few days afterwards.
Hi Nigel, You mentioned getting a Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX, I bought a new on in March this year to do a few European trips ( that didn’t happen! ) here’s a couple of links for a bit of reading for you to finish off your lockdown, a few thoughts of mine on the bike so far.... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/so-what-did-i-buy.76341/ On this page, post 1290 and going over to the following page... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-multistrada-1260-v4-190hp.71503/page-65 When I bought it I was hedging my bets a bit, I thought as it’s a popular bike,..if I don’t like it I’ll have no problem selling it, but I’ve really grown to like it, such a good sports tourer and so easy to live with. Happy Christmas you lucky people!!
Kawasaki have a history of nice runabouts for Australia. Perhaps you already look like that after being locked in a hotel room for weeks........
I think you'll find that it was the UK authorities that closed the border due to new strain of Covid.
I think you'll find if you check that the UK authorities did not close the border, the other countries -of which France was only one- refused to allow people travelling from the UK to enter their countries.
It was the French government that closed it border to the UK. Dutch government certainly didn’t as my mate had his bike picked up by a Dutch national on a trailer along with 16 other motorcycles. He had taken a ferry from Holland to England and was returning to Holland for Christmas. border was open to allow trucks into the UK but not into France. Have a link to a report here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-55392801
Now you’ve done it, looks like the Goose saw your post and is on his way.... And he has a Mark 1 GoPro.......
Update! We’re getting the flock outta here!! Visit from the Doctor, Army and NSW copper this morning to advise we tested negative and can leave tomorrow at 4:30pm It’s been bloody tough and not something I’d like to repeat, god forbid we tested positive and would have to undergo another 10 days minimum. I’m really looking forward to taking a breath of “un air-conditioned” fresh air
