V4 Quick Shifter Problems

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Dukepaul, Jun 7, 2018.

  1. True. But if ignition cut times went left or right I think you'd feel it. The QS on the V4 (not that I'm very experienced with modern QS) feels super slick, very seamless.
As you say, it seems on or off in this case. When the QS on the V4 has developed a fault I think the rider knows for sure it's gone tits.

  2. My QS and down blipper have been fine so far with 1500 Miles on the clock now, it is in for the clutch recall at the end of the month though so I will see if they pick anything else up, getting a bit worried with these horror stories .

  3. Was out on my Speciale last night and everything was fine with the quickshifter.

Its 1 week old to the day with 400 miles on it.

I was sat in a lay-by waiting 5 mins with the engine running. I pulled off and a yellow warning light came up on the bottom right of the dash and the street mode started flashing and then the quickshifter wouldn't work.

Took it straight home and parked it up. Went back out to it a hour later and turned the ignition on and the street symbol stopped flashing, so hopefully it will just be a little glitch.
Its in for its 1st service on the 23rd of this month so hopefully they will find out the problem then.

  4. Doesn't sound promising. Sounds like another DQS about to bite the dust. I'd be giving it a robust testing between now and service time if I were you.

  5. Yeah certainly will be doing. The rain stopped me from going back on it last night. Been on the phone to the dealer who said, if I keep my foot for longer than 5 secs on the gear shift then it automatically switches off the QS. I know I hadn't done that and that also wouldn't explain the flashing street mode.

Reading everyone's comments kind of points me to think that its had it (

  6. I've done a couple of steady track days on mine and so far so good. I think with all QS you need to be reasonably positive with them. Good luck, and keep us informed of the outcome :upyeah:

  7. Just taken mine out for a spin since it stopped working last time. Everything was fine with the QS, then after 10 or so mins it went back to the street word flashing and the DQS ERR code appearing and now no Quick Shifter again have tried turning the bike on and off again to reset things but the error is still showing

  8. Just got the bike back from 1st service and correction of QS........Turns out there was a cable that the exhaust burnt through in connection with the side stand........ all back and all working again. So happy chappy ))
