Quickshifters

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by rac3r, Oct 14, 2013.

  1. You sure???? I think you do, have you read the manual?

  2. Mine did and 4 other people I know have it fitted

  3. Please don't confuse that DQS with HM guys, not the same tech at all! DQS so crude... just saying :)

If you love your gear box you will stick with strain gauge tech shifters.

  4. Love the HM on my track bike. Slick as crude in a south American sea

  5. Yeah pretty sure only the S model has it. Having DQS or DTC on the dash doesn't mean you actually have them. I will double check anyway

  6. HMQS are the daddy. I've had 4 of them on various bikes including every Ducati and they have been brilliant. Customer support and service from HM has been old skool kool too :)

  7. Look at your right hand front brake disc. If there is a speed sensor on the caliper mount and the disc bobbins are solid, then you have DTC. Bootsam posted this previously, not a SF but shows the set up http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f2/dtc-2009-1198-a-14055/

  8. Just checked over on the US forum and none of the SF's come with DQS as standard and only the S has TC

  9. I have Gilles rear sets on my Streetfighter S. Would this stop me using an HM quickshifter?

  10. Some exciting news from HM, I have one on loan for some testing but take a look at HM Quickshifter web site for more info, this is groundbreaking stuff for Quickshifter technology.

    Quote:-

HM Quickshifters launch the final say in Quickshifter technology.

Now you too can have the MotoGP seemless shift with the all new HM GP Quickshifter which currently only 4 riders in the world have experienced riding with seemless gearbox's. What we have achieved here is the same seemless shift but through software coupled with our already world proven Quickshifters. Launched at the Valencia GP we are extremely pleased to now offer this top level GP shifter to all after years in the making. Featuring the all new HMSS (HM Seemless Shift) technology we are now able to to offer to all a true 'seemless' shift. We could not be more happy with the results and this has been seen by many who have featured in our extensive and exhustive testing program.

"HMSS System to beat chosen shift times to save significant accumulated time over a lap and produce seemingly 'seemless' shifts"

"Fully and continuously dynamic self learning, self learning, very fast and incredibly accurate gear determination" as not seen by any other shifter!!!

"Each gear has its own kill time and sensitivity settings"

Want to learn more about this and the many more features it has, then please go to our downloads page and products page to see all the benefits this shifter has to offer and you will realise that this is truely the "be all and end all" when it comes to Quickshifting technology!!

Also, during the testing that we were doing with some of the biggest and best known teams in the racing industry today, we also sent some units to road users with exceptional results for day to day riding.

Prices start at £650 + options and VAT where applicable. Please see here HMQUICKSHIFTER :: The Next Generation Quickshifter
*Currently only availble for Honda and Suzuki- more bikes coming very soon

  14. I'm going to get one myself in the new year. They are renowned as THE BEST QS. No question. Nice guys at HM too. email [email protected] for questions. Very helpful guy. Great for suspension set ups too. Did my 916 and its spot on, even sized the rear spring for me. Plus they sell all the nice shiny bits, slipper clutches, ohlins, brembos etc etc.

Interestingly Suzuki MotoGP team has a warehouse next door.

    Edenbridge Kent.

  15. I am really keen to replace my stock DQS with an HM shifter in the Spring.

Bike is a 2013 848 Corse, how difficult would it be for me to fit this? Please treat me like an idiot as I don't really do electrics...! :)

  16. Hi mate, for the 848 its VERY simple as the two coil pack connectors (spark plug leads) are on the left side of the frame, unlike a Jap bike where you have to remove the whole airbox from the bike to get to the plug top coils, then you need a shift rod included with the ones I sell to replace the old rod, the new rod is shorter to account for the sensor that measures an extra 50mm. After that you connect one earth lead and thats it, apart from a quick setup on the LCD screen of the HM Plus, you set the direction of shift, kill time around 60ms and then the sensitivity for the sensor (can be seen buy the SHIFT light on the LCD). Thats it. Only thing you need to know with Ducati is in order to enter the setup mode you need to start the engine while counting down the setup timer all of this is in the full instructions included with the shifter, plus on-line help from someone like me or HM Quickshiters or even HM Racing.

The HM Quickshifter GP has a couple more wires for RPM and Speed sensor, as I say GP shifter for Ducati will be soon, watch this space :)

  18. My 848 sf definately has dtc. Get the back light and it nearly throws you over the bars. I switched it off now it rides fine. only dry weather riding so dont really need it anyway

  19. Some videos of the new HM on YouTube, I won't post them here of members will flame me!

Traction control is also coming soon for the HM GP as well as Ducati comparability, I've been working with the GP for the last few days and it's amazing!

    No other shifter comes close!

  20. Sorry Arthur, I only just saw your posts just now. Thanks for that info. I definitely want to fit one of these to upgrade the stock DQS but it'll need to wait until Spring, unless I get some sort of Christmas bonus or something!

Will have a look at costs etc. over winter.
